The Great Glen Way runs for 79 miles from coast to coast, and while you may not want to complete the whole thing during your stay here, the fact that it passes through the croft means that you’ll have easy access to a good path for walking or cycling through these gorgeous landscapes. For more walks nearby, head to places like Falls of Divach (15 minutes’ drive), Invermoriston Falls (25 minutes) or Glen Affric (35 minutes). Tired of walking? See some of the scenery at a more leisurely pace with Jacobite Loch Ness Cruises from Dochgarroch Lock (15 minutes). Other attractions along the shores of Loch Ness include The Loch Ness Experience (five minutes) and the atmospheric ruins of Urquhart Castle (10 minutes). Travelling a little north of the loch, head to Inverness (25 minutes) to visit the botanic gardens, castle and art gallery before continuing on to Culloden Battlefield or The Singleton of Glen Ord Distillery (both 35 minutes, in different directions).
