It’s a small secluded site near the very big stones of the World Heritage Site.... pitch up at fully landscaped Stonehenge Campsite and Glamping Pods for some high Stonehenge standards. The one-acre family-run Stonehenge Campsite and Glamping Pods is the nearest outdoor accommodation site to the famous stones, with plentiful facilities including sinks, a dishwashing area and a heated shower block with spanking new piping hot power showers. Dogs are welcome (and there are plenty of good walks nearby). Campfires are allowed on site, but do pipe down in the evenings as the park has a strict no-noise policy past 10pm (campers need to get their 40 winks if they're going to be up with the larks to visit the famous stones…). For food, two pubs are within walking distance, They are between a 15 and 20-minute walk away, in Berwick St James or Winterbourne Stoke. An easy footpath walk away is the well-stocked Berwick Farm shop for all sorts of tasty supplies, and a mini market, supermarket and fresh eggs and meat available from local suppliers are all within a short drive. Feeling particularly lazy? The takeaways in nearby Larkhill and Amesbury do deliveries straight to the site.

不喜欢 Site is in need of some TLC, appreciate it was nearly the end of November, however a tidy up and some maintenance is well overdue (leaking service taps / no hose at the chemical waste point or lighting). The gents toilets and showers... (as you may have read on other reviews) are in serious need of upgrading (we decided to use our own facilities). They claim to be cleaned twice a day, I did doubt that based on the same muck and hair being there day after day. The ladies newer block was not to bad. The washing up area was reasonable, with a microwave and kettle for campers. However the fridge was disgusting! I don't know when that was last cleaned out. As we had our own facilities we still enjoyed our stay, and would consider returning as the site has so much potential. I appreciate it won awards but that was 10 years ago, and I feel they haven't kept upto that standard.

不喜欢 Site is tired and facilities are not clean. Floors in ladies & single gents were filthy, no mop & bucket to clean showers, hairs in shower were there Thursday to Sunday. 1 Shower cubicle unusable due to being full of gnats - got bitten loads

喜欢 Walking distract to good gastropub (some road walking though).

不喜欢 Booked a gold pitch (listed as in a private gated section) however not worth it as all pitches are in the private gated section. Much better pitches available (assume silver?) which were far more private.

不喜欢 Camp seemed tired and bathroom facilities could be cleaner ie door handles, seat and sink in shower were not clean. No tv or radio signal.

喜欢 Great position near city and Old Sarum. Warden was very kind and helpful with setting up our van on its pitch after dark.

No need to spend aeons introducing the main attractions near this park… the Stonehenge site is just miles away and nearby Avebury contains the biggest stone circle in Europe. Other historical highlights nearby include Longleat, Stourhead Gardens and the medieval Salisbury Cathedral, over 400 feet high and with Europe’s oldest working clock. The county of Wiltshire as a whole has heaps to keep all ages and interests occupied, from the Longleat Safari & Adventure Park to stately homes such as the National Trust - Mompesson House. Further afield but still within easy reach, World Heritage historyheads can also take a trip to the historic city of Bath to gawk at the Georgian architecture or get Darcy-like at the Jane Austen Centre (have a proper English tea at the Pump Room afterwards). Or there’s Bristol with the famous SS Great Britain and the award-winning We The Curious interactive science centre, voted one of the top 10 family attractions in the country. Nature types should trip along to the New Forest and its guided walks on the wildlife and landscape, year-round events including country shows and carnivals, cycle and horse riding trails, forest villages and seaside towns.
