Now this is a lovely spot for a quiet break in the Somerset countryside. Bath Chew Valley Caravan Park is a fabulously peaceful adults-only site based on a garden theme – think carefully maintained lawns, shrubs and flower beds wherever you look. And the wider surroundings are just as lovely – the site is just at the top of the Mendip Hills National Landscape and 800 metres from Chew Valley Lake, a championship fly fishing lake that also has walking trails and bird hides for wildlife watchers. The area offers up plenty of options for walks, bike rides and other outdoor activities, or you could use the site as a base for outings to places like Bath, Wells, Bristol and Cheddar Gorge. The quiet and scenic setting is a real draw here – but so is the fact that the site is just on the edge of the village of Bishop Sutton, allowing you to walk to the pub or village shop in less than 10 minutes. Barbecues are permitted on site, so you may like to pick up supplies for some outdoor cooking while you’re in the village. Back at base, you’ll be staying at an award-winning site where you’ll have access to top-quality facilities including a utility room (with laundry and washing-up facilities) and a smart bathroom block that’s heated in winter and has accessible amenities. A car is available to hire from reception for motorhome users who’d like to explore without moving their van, and local bus services stop close by in the village.

喜欢 We had a wonderful stay at Bath Chew Valley Caravan Park. The lodge was lovely, comfortable and in a beautiful setting, making it the perfect place to relax and unwind. The surroundings were peaceful, and the location was ideal for exploring Bath and the surrounding area. Everything made for a really enjoyable break, and we would happily recommend the park to others. We would definitely love to return in the future!

不喜欢 We had a lovely stay and thoroughly enjoyed our time at the park. A little extra warmth and friendliness from the staff, with a few more smiles, would have made the experience even more welcoming. Just a small suggestion to make an already enjoyable stay even better.

喜欢 The site is kept in a pristine condition, nice size plots, mature trees and shrubs, the showers are not on a timer, two lovely ladies come and serve up pizza and breakfast, no kids

不喜欢 The hand dryers desperately need updating to more powerful units, and add paper towels for hand drying. Also the toilets need air fresheners

喜欢 Very nice site, really nice people to deal with on̈ site.

不喜欢 Shower cubicles too small. And nothing to stand on dry when you get out of the shower. Also the shower bases are very slippery, could do with something non slip on the base.

喜欢 Very friendly welcome Spotless clean caravan site quiet. Showers/toilets clean. Plenty of room in showers and pegs for clothes to get changed, showers are not pushbutton keeper ones.
Everyone was really friendly on site great breakfast van for the weekend, unfortunately we missed Pizza night. Great location. Washers and dryers, spotless clean and reasonable price. Spa shop near site was also great. Stocked with good quality food.

As well as being a lovely spot in its own right, this site is an excellent base for touring the area. You’ll want to spend some time at the lake, of course, whether it’s fishing, birdwatching or walking that brings you here. Walkers can also set off to stroll around Stanton Drew Circles and Cove (10 minutes’ drive) or head to Bell Farm Alpacas (10 minutes) for alpaca experiences including walks and picnics. For dramatic landscapes (and some tasty cheese) it has to be an outing to Cheddar Gorge and caves (20 minutes); you can also go climbing or caving here. For gentler pursuits, check out places like Somerset Coalfield Life at Radstock Museum (20 minutes) or Downside Abbey (25 minutes), a lovely place for some quiet time. Dipping in to a bit of city life is nice and easy around here, with Wells, Bath and Bristol all within a half-hour drive. And how about a bit of beach time too? Weston-super-Mare is 45 minutes away, with two miles of sands, a tidal pool and a lively pier.
