喜欢: Everything, beautiful setting, with the cleanest facilities I've come across. Quiet site, a lot of regulars and private pitches. If you just want to relax, walks in the woods, round the lake or just sit back and watch the wildlife.

不喜欢: That I didn't stay longer!! Shop doesn't stock a big range. WiFi can be a bit hit and miss depending where you are on site!

喜欢: Lovely friendly site Phil and Mandy were so helpful and had good knowledge of fishing and the area in general. Fishing was great with a selection of pools for beginners and more experienced anglers. Showers were clean and hot. A little shop selling basic things which was helpful. Great walking routes through the woodland areas.

喜欢: This site is immaculately kept by very kind, welcoming hosts. All the guests were lovely to our children who really enjoyed the fishing. The campsite is also in a great location for exploring Cerne Abbas which was a real highlight for me. We were in a tent and there was ample room on the pitch which was flat with easy access to electric, water and not far at all from the clean facilities. Beautiful little woodland loop to walk the dog in with dog waste bins provided. We will be back!

不喜欢: When it rained the water ran into our awning mainly because the drain wasn't able to cope with the amount of water and the bad slope on the site toilets and showers very dated I thought they would of been free due to it costing so much unable to get phone signal or wi fi

Cerne Abbas has been called ‘Britain’s most desirable village’ to live in and it’s easy to see why. Start stays with a ramble around the stunningly pretty village, stopping in at the pubs to sample the local beer and tottering along to Cerne Abbey where the village’s tradition of brewing began. Of course, beer isn’t what Cerne Abbas is most famous for, so a trip to the Cerne Abbas Giant (a chalk hill figure of a happily anatomically correct man) comes highly recommended. There’s a viewing spot in the village and closer looks are a stroll away along a waymarked circular trail managed by the National Trust. If naked desires (sorry) skew more towards grand estates, Minterne House and Gardens are less than five minutes from base – the house isn’t open to the public, but it’s a spectacular backdrop to wanders among Himalayan gardens, designed in the style of Capability Brown. More urban days are within easy reach at Dorchester, 20 minutes away. The town is the birthplace of Thomas Hardy, and visits to Hardy’s Cottage and his home later in life (Max Gate) are absolute musts. It’s not just literary history here either: there’s the Tutankhamun Exhibition, a Roman amphitheatre, a display of Terracotta Warrior replicas, and a handful of museums for everything from teddy bears to dinosaurs.
