喜欢: Clean, tidy and well laid out campsite.
We arrived early and there was a number to ring to check-in as reception was closed. We were given very clear instructions of where to pitch and provided with details for the lock on the gate to access the parka trail.

喜欢: Spotlessly clean facilities and the owner kindly let me move from original pitch to one with a view. Was right next to Tarka Trail so would be perfect for cyclists. Easy to get to as well which is bonus.

喜欢: Booked this campsite last minute for a family emergency and really loved staying there… The showers and toilets were immaculate. Lovely views of wrafton, heanton and ashford. Would definitely stay there again ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

喜欢: The new shower block is fabulous and super clean. Warm and has hair dryers too.
Quiet, peaceful environment by the estuary with access to the Tarka Trail

不喜欢: Hard standing would be more suitable than grass as it was raining and made it a little more tricky to walk upon etc.

Would be good to have the code for the gate/access in the booking

Toilet block is very nice and very clean.

The traffic-free Tarka Trail is a top pick for walks and bike rides around here. The 30-mile section that runs adjacent to the site follows the route of an old railway, so it's fairly flat (excellent news for occasional walkers/cyclists). Bike hire is available at the old station by Fremington Quay (three miles away by road/a mile and a half's walk along the trail), where there's also a café and heritage centre. Wildlife spotters should check out RSPB Isley Marsh (under a mile by foot), where waders galore are drawn to a peaceful saltmarsh. Serious birdwatchers can head out for the day to to Lundy Island: the ferry leaves Bideford (10 minutes' drive) several times a week and takes around two hours. For a day at the beach, head to Instow (a five-minute drive), a sandy riverside spot with sweeping views over the estuary that's popular with sailors and windsurfers. If you fancy taking to the waves, catch the Instow to Appledore Ferry across the Taw. Westward Ho! (15 minutes) is home to another fine beach and is a hub for surfers, kayakers and paddleboarders (with kit for hire) as well as go-karting.
