Or how about combining a tour of topiary and sculptures in the gardens at Castle Hill Estate (also 20 minutes) with a Devon cream-tea treat in the café? When it comes to entertaining your youngsters, most kids will adore the displays of weaponry, tanks and army jeeps at Cobbaton Combat Collection (15 minutes), and for an afternoon of family fun in the clear Devon air, you could try trekking with friendly, furry beasties at Watertown Llamas (an hour).
