Sick of being rudely awakened by your alarm clock? Try a Ruda wakening instead: after a blissfully peaceful lie-in, unzip your sleeping bag, take a gulp of fresh clean air and stroll a few steps down to the golden sands and sparkling waves… Ruda Holiday Park is in the perfect spot to make the most of the surfers' paradise of Croyde Bay on Devon’s Gold Coast, sitting right alongside the sweeping sandy bay. Croyde is a world-famous destination for surfers, and it’d be ruda not to have a go while you’re here. You can hire a variety of boards, wetsuits and other kit from Ruda Holiday Park’s dedicated surf shop, and instructors from the renowned Surf South West school are on hand if you want lessons. If the weather puts the kibosh on splashing around in the great outdoors, head for Ruda’s tropical indoor pool complex, where there are water rapids and underwater geysers, waterfalls, hydrojets and one humongous slide. This site is great for kids of all ages, with beach games laid on throughout the summer, a soft play area, an outdoor playground complete with obstacle course, and very bouncy kids' clubs: toddlers can make their own musical instruments for a boogie with Sid the seagull and Lizzie the lizard; four- to 10-year-olds can star in their own superhero movie, or get stuck into nostalgic funfair sessions featuring a coconut shy, tin can alley and the like; and there are DJ workshops and plenty of other age-appropriate action for tweens and teens in the Freestyle club. As with all Parkdean Resorts sites, you’ll find a good choice of on-site food options (Ruda has the added bonus of a beach café and ice-cream parlour), plus a sprightly schedule of evening entertainment, and comprehensive essential amenities.

Clear veiw for miles although overcast weather

Amazing beach and sea. only 2 min walk from ruda to croyde beach.

Wash room sink blocked for the 4 days reported twice. other blocked with dirty water when run

Large pitch size, also fit our car next to gazebo.

Nice pitch, not too busy that time of the year. Hubby enjoyed…

喜欢: Nice pitch, not too busy that time of the year. Hubby enjoyed the swimming pool and it was nice knowing that there is a shop and a few food places nearby.

不喜欢: It would have been good to have WiFi.

喜欢: Location for the beach Good shop Not to far to the village Great scenery

不喜欢: We booked through pitch up for one night when we got there we booked two more nights and they charged us more than pitch up We don't understand why.

喜欢: The glamping safari tent at ruda was great. It was clean, affordable, comfortable and well supplied so that we could rock up and just unpack no need to build a tent or set up a van! The view was great and located so close to the beach!

不喜欢: The wind shook the tent a lot and some storm straps could have been useful as it was loud at night. Also as the tents are near eachother you can hear others, but it didn't bother me too much though my partner lost some sleep over it.

喜欢: Site was lovely and plenty of activities, close to beach and with in walking distance of town and shops pubs etc Good base camp for visiting many local areas all of which were beautiful

不喜欢: Toilet and shower blocks were ok definitely need a revamp and needed regular cleaning or at least have a mop or squeegee for customers to use had to keep my flip flops on

喜欢: Excellent customer service at reception. Quickly relocated to be next to family and another query dealt with excellently. Good access to all facilities. Gorgeous views and quick access to the beach.

不喜欢: Touring block showers were quite tired and often mucky but we did see regular cleaning. Littering appeared to be an issue.

喜欢: Lovely walk to the beach and into Croyde - can’t beat where the site is situated

不喜欢: Shower block needs major updating. They were clean but the showers were awful - had to keep turning back on virtually every 30 seconds! Also the water sprayed the back of the door instead of coming straight down !

喜欢: Clean and tidy site, especially the shower block. Everything you need on site. Excellent proximity to the beach.

不喜欢: Entertainment was a bit weak, but I understand it was midweek and out of season. Some free facilities closed too early for my liking I. E. The Boathouse closing at 22.00 but I understand the reasons why.

Don’t miss the chance to explore the Devonshire coastline surrounding Ruda Holiday Park. Recommendations include a walk to the headland at Baggy Point where you’ll be rewarded with outstanding views; a saunter along spectacular Saunton Sands, and a delve into the dunes at Braunton Burrows. Croyde is a perfectly pretty village of thatched cottages, tearooms, pubs, restaurants, cafés and (but of course) surf shops. There are umpteen visitor attractions in the area, particularly for animal enthusiasts, who can come face to face with life-sized model dinosaurs and a host of their living, breathing descendants at Combe Martin Wildlife Park; practise their trout pouts on some fishy friends at Ilfracombe’s aquarium; or get hands on with the animals at the Big Sheep, the area’s most eccentric day out: sheep racing and stunt ducks, anyone…?
