Heavenly Devon views are around you at this super spot looking down over Brixham. Estate agents might call it a dual aspect view. At Wall Park Touring Caravan and Centry Road Camping Site they just call it their own special corner of Devon. Sitting on the Berry Head peninsula, this lush green tree-lined site has Brixham harbour on one side, peaceful St. Mary’s Bay on the other. It’s a smart site with a laundry, hot showers and disabled bathrooms, as well as an on-site bar (closed on Mondays) for refreshments. Regulars rave about the walk down into Brixham from the site; a 15-minute descent with the sea gulls, sea breezes and sea views getting ever closer. (They also point out it’s uphill on the way back; in a car, the trip’s about three minutes.) Brixham’s a handsome harbour town that's great for fresh fish, as the boats unload here all day. To see a slightly older vessel, step aboard the Golden Hind, a replica of the craft Sir Francis Drake circled the globe in 450 years ago and still awash with history. You can clock some miles up yourselves in this part of the Devon coast, on foot or by car. A walk round the Berry Head nature reserve will reward the most reluctant hikers, with huge views, a Napoleonic fort and cliffs alive with adders, guillemots and peregrine falcons. Hike round the headland, then take the path down to St. Mary’s Bay for a well-earned paddle.

喜欢: Stayed at this campsite for 5 days. Fantastic location, just 10mins walk down to the harbour and right next to the coastal paths with easy walk to Berry Head. Well organised site, staff all very friendly and Bill on reception was especially helpful. Nice set up with the new bar/cafe, enjoyed the cream teas and music night on the Friday. Good signal with WiFi. Will definitely use this site again, thanks.

喜欢: The staff were friendly and accommodating. Showers were basic but clean. Is situated next to coastal walks and a short walk to a beautiful beach. Main field looked spacious.

不喜欢: Size of pitches on the touring side, no views, public path running through centre of park leading to housing estate for noise and security reasons. Stated shop on website but no shop on site. Excessive speed humps on entrance.

来自经理: Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We strive to make improvements to the site all the time, so these are invaluable. For clarification the website states that there is a shop nearby. The Co-Op is a 5-10 minute walk away. In relation to the speed humps, the local council have insisted that 5mph humps are used on the site, as there are children using the site. It is therefore out of our control.

Will definitely stay again.

喜欢: Beautiful, clean campsite. Shower and toilet block very clean. Everything well marked and set out. Friendly and helpful staff. Easy to get to. Handy bus transfers into local town.

不喜欢: Push button showers that were very quick release.

喜欢: Location: great dog walks direct from site, easy distance into Brixham too. Site was clean, tidy & quiet. Friendly staff who had time to chat & describe local areas, places to eat & how to get there. Thankyou!

不喜欢: Lack of privacy between pitches. It’ll be nicer when the newly planted hedge has grown.

喜欢: Helpful staff with relaxed atmosphere on the camp site with family's and Older folk There is a food stall open 5 days a week for breakfast /brunch and some evenings

喜欢: The site is in a good location to walk to Brixham and the coastal path. It if flat so perfect for pitching. There is plenty of space and the facilities are really good. Showers/toilets are cleaned regularly. They have a bar and a food van which was great for breakfast! It’s not noise after 10 which made the park lovely and quiet.

不喜欢: No ball games… at all, and no area to be able to play tennis/football (or anything with a ball) which was a real shame as I’d rather the kids be playing outside than sat around board! They do have a very small park for under 12’s

Many of the towns on the coast serve up a cracking cocktail of inland attraction and nearby beach, Dartmouth (40 minutes’ drive) being a good example. The 14th-century castle has estuary views and grisly history for those who like it; railway buffs can catch the Paignton and Dartmouth Steam line for a nostalgic tour of the surrounds and link up with a boat trip on the River Dart as well. Adjacent to the town, Blackpool Sands beach is sandy and safe for families, and adventurous sorts can go sea-kayaking. Further off, Hope Cove (an hour) has the perfect combination of sand for burying your siblings in and rock pools for exploring. If you do want a break from coastal activities, Paignton Zoo (20 minutes) has exotic residents in six different habitats; you can visit each one on the Jungle Express Train. Plymouth (an hour) is a popular port of call for its National Marine Aquarium and indoor ski slopes. For watery fun away from the beaches meanwhile, Splashdown Quay West (15 minutes) is an aqua park packed with flumes and slides and things to get wet in, and there are water rides, interactive dinosaurs and a zoo farm menagerie at Woodlands Adventure Park (45 minutes).
