Anyone having a hol in Cornwall at any time should pitch up near Newquay at some point: for famed surfing beaches, lively vibe, Newquay Zoo, the Blue Reef Aquarium… and easy access to the rest of the north Cornish coast as well as the beaches down south. And if you're looking for a family base within walking distance of Newquay? Pitch up at popular and friendly Trencreek Holiday Park, owned and run in the quiet village of Trencreek by the same family for over 60 years. This pretty and well-maintained park is a mere mile from Newquay town centre and five minutes' walk away from a regular bus route, passing tennis courts, swimming pools and Newquay Zoo on the way into town. Trencreek is a family and couples-only holiday park, where the family team here make their mission to provide a welcoming vibe and to keep all amenities to spotless standards. Everything's kept secure here: access is by car number plate recognition barriers, so only those booked on site are allowed in. Spend your days lazing by the heated outdoor pool or casting off – for free – in the coarse fishing ponds, or let the kids loose at the play area, sandpit and games room. By night, you could settle down for a barbecue by your pitch: an excellently-stocked shop is on site, a farm shop is within five minutes' walk and a supermarket is a mile away.

不喜欢 *Pitches very close together.
*Whilst the shower blocks and dish washing facilities were clean, they are both in need of modernisation.
*Unhelpful older woman at reception when we asked a question about bus times.Thankfully someone else helped us.
*Tried to buy WiFi (can't believe still having to pay for WiFi these days!!) but it wouldn't connect.
*Childrens park needs more to play with!
*Great guy who works in the takeaway

喜欢 The location was great and we could walk into Newquay in less than 30 minutes. Our pitch was great too and near everything we needed. Though we didn’t get the chance to use it, the outdoor pool looked fantastic. It was nice to have entertainment in the pub one night during our stay too.

不喜欢 We thought the approach to the site was disappointing. We understand it’s perhaps outwith your control, but the surroundings were tired and looked like they needed a good tidying up. There was lots of litter and weeds and an old banged up car in the road. It just didn’t make you feel positive about Trencreek as you approached it. Much better once in the site though. The site and the gardens were lovely!

喜欢 Easy to get to, friendly reception from the owners. New shower block and toilet at bottom end which was lovely: power and water all accessible. Good access to supermarket near by.

不喜欢 Quite close parking, felt like we were too young to be there, mostly from other campers. Many weren’t willing to talk to my husband when he said hello. Singluar block toilets could do with an update

喜欢 Great site, pool was warm enough on a hot day. The bar is very well priced and had good music/ bands playing. Nice fishing pond as well. You can cycle into Newquay in about 10 minutes and walk in about 30 minutes.

Set off on foot or take the local bus for the mile-long journey into Newquay, one of the most famed spots in all the country for surfing and surf schools as well as the surfing tournaments at Fistral beach. Loads of other Newquay options await if the thought of boards bores you: have a potter around the zoo or aquarium, bask on some of the seven miles of golden sandy beach, or take the Newquay Discovery Trail on a gentle meander through town. The South West Coast Path runs through town too on its 603-mile meander from Minehead to Poole; there's an easy trail of less than a mile to Bedruthan Steps if you want to tackle the path with the kids. Just outside Newquay, Trenance Gardens and Leisure Park is a spectacular spot for a family day out, with Trenance Leisure Park and skate park, a boating lake and pedalo hire, and peaceful times afterwards among the trees, flowers and rose bushes of Trenance Gardens. The park is 10 minutes' walk from Trencreek. For day trips, try Truro (25 minutes' drive), Padstow (30 minutes), the Eden Project (35 minutes) and the National Maritime Museum at Falmouth (50 minutes).
