Are you more ‘flushing loo’ than ‘compost loo’? Keen to get together with friends and family in the open air, but prefer a few frills with your camping? There’s no need to compromise, for Stay Wild, a Cornish campsite 15 minutes’ drive from Helston, has room for up to five units on each three-acre grass pitch. Set in hilly, wooded countryside, these huge private pitches come with some luxurious facilities too: namely private bathrooms, electric hook-ups, picnic tables, firepits and washing-up areas with fridge-freezers, kettles and washing lines. Here you can forget your phone, TV, computer and work life. Relax, have a laugh with family and friends. Take notice of the abundant plants, flowers and trees around you, and listen to the buzz of insects and the a-tweeting of birds. If you stay fairly quiet on site, you’ll spot all sorts of wildlife here. Once the sun goes down (in colourful style on clear nights), you might be served with one of the best night skies you’ll ever see. On a good night, you can see stars, planets and the Milky Way – and occasionally the International Space Station or shooting stars. The site owners will lend out their infra-red camera and night-vision binoculars if you want an even-better idea of what’s going on up there.

Buzzards Landing 有电 硬质地面和草地 帐篷或房车 单元 (独立卫生间)

喜欢 Despite the weather doing a complete dirty on us, we absolutely loved our stay here. The peace and quiet, the beautiful clean bathroom, the privacy, the space, the friendly owners. We've already booked to come again and imagine there will be another and another booking after that.

不喜欢 If you stay and find something to dislike... you may want to reconsider camping altogether!

喜欢 The space! The bathroom and kitchen area! The neighbourhood Goats! The fire pit! All very lovely and we felt very catered for.

不喜欢 Not a dislike as such and absolutely no fault of the owners obviously but… just a warning …. the bottom pitch, Bramble Brook is prone to midges. Hot and damp weather didn’t help. Come prepared!

当地景点

A sojourn at Stay Wild puts you close to both Cornish coastlines for days on the beach. Surfers, turn north to head for Newquay (45 minutes’ drive) and its consistent waves, while the south-coast town of Falmouth (20 minutes) is known for sandy beaches backed by ice-cream stands and food stalls. A bit further west, Praa Sands (half an hour) is a good spot for swimming and bodyboarding. Arty tyres can mosey along to St Ives (40 minutes) to look at a hundred years of contemporary art in the gleaming-white Tate St Ives. However, if the kids are proving resistant to culture, take them to Marazion (35 minutes) to walk across the sands (or arrive by boat) to fairy-tale St Michael’s Mount to explore its castle and gardens. If more active days out are demanded, Stithians Lake Activities Centre is close at hand for kayaking, windsurfing and rowing adventures on the reservoir. For families with daredevil teenagers, Via Ferrata Cornwall (both 10 minutes) challenges nerves with cliffside climbing routes and zipwires zooming across a former granite quarry.
