Avoid the madding crowds on your summer sojourn to Cornwall and stay at this green, secluded and peaceful park instead: Polladras Holiday Park has had previous guests waxing lyrical about its peace, its quiet and its lovely location 15 minutes' drive from Helston and pretty Porthleven harbour. The park is in a rural setting four miles from the beaches of Cornwall’s south coast and within easy reach of coastal and countryside walks. It’s in a top spot too for south-west Cornwall explores with Penzance, the Lizard Peninsula and Land’s End no more than half an hour’s drive away. Yet blissful peace will always be yours when you potter back to pitch, as family-friendly and dog-friendly Polladras is set over nine acres and has no noisy bar, clubhouse or evening entertainment. This is a place that gives a good nod to eco-friendly aspects: low wattage bulbs are used throughout and recycling is paramount. Heaps of info is displayed about non-car ways of getting around the local area, in the form of bus timetables on display and details of walks from the park given to all guests, and the well thought-out nature trail leads to a games field with play barn, football goals and a climbing frame to wrestle the kids away from their consoles.

喜欢: Easy check in process, clean facilities and well located for Land’s End and The Lizard etc. Us and our dog had a lovely time and wouldn’t hesitate to return. Thank you for allowing us the use of a field to give our dog some time off her lead, much appreciated

喜欢: We really liked it. Very nice, calm place. Great play room, where our sons love to play pool and nice area for playing football. Always clean showers, bathroom, kitchen.

喜欢: The pitch area was flat and easy to pitch. It was close to the facilities and play area. The facilities are well maintained

不喜欢: The wifi is barely available in the pine meadows pitch area and can be improved especially when the 4G mobile data signals are very weak in the area as well.

喜欢: Polladras holiday park was lovely, the staff on site were helpful and the onsite facilities were great for my young children and myself. It was just a happy atmosphere and I would definitely recommend a stay here if you are in the area. We really enjoyed our time staying on site and hope to come back in the future.

不喜欢: Phone reception and internet were a little temperamental but there was enough to do to survive without it for the most part.

喜欢: Really clean site. Friendly, helpful staff. Good amount of entertainment for the children. Spacious pitch area. Good amount of amenities (toilets,showers,etc). Lots of leaflets at reception for things to do near by.

喜欢: the nature trail the shower block Cornwall. the surrounding area is stunning. some of the best coastal scenery in the UK

不喜欢: the owners. was told off for driving through site at 10.15 as it was too noisy. owner was really rude. Yet over bank holiday there were two parties by my tent shouting till gone 12.30 in the morning. owners daughter swearing and being mean to my kids in the evening with an entitled attitude. had an email. from the owner for shouting in the daytime. im a single parent with children with special needs. non electric pitches allocated in advance. we were given the most exposed, furthest Away pitch fron the facilities that was really stony even though the field was no more than half full at the busiest night we were there. charged 20 quid for fire pit for 1 night and 5 quid for every subsequent night. the games room is a money making exercise, essentially a small amusement arcade. the communal fridge had Milk two weeks out of date in it, even though there was a sign saying out of date food will be thrown away. the camping field is essentially a dog exercising area for the rest of the caravan park

Within half an hour or less you’ll reach most of the main highlights of south-west Cornwall as well as many beyond: Flambards Theme Park, St Ives, Falmouth and the gardens of Glendurgan, Trebah and Trewithian are all close by, and the town of Helston, Cornwall’s second oldest (after Marazion), is three miles from the park. Stunning beaches are all around: Praa Sands 10 minutes’ drive away; Sennen Cove and its consistent waves for surf, and Porthleven, Pollurian and Mullion for fishing, more watersporting and rockpooling. From Porthkerris beach, towards Falmouth, you can learn to dive and look for the shore’s shipwrecks, while Kennack Sands and Kynance towards the Lizard are the ones to take the paintbox to. Newquay and the famed surf beaches of Cornwall’s north coast are within seven miles. For walkies, take to the countryside around Lower Polladras using the park guides, or have some gorgeously scenic strolls along the South West Coast Path to Mullion, Marazion, Mousehole or Penzance. On the north coast, try the eight-mile hike from Portreath to Godrevy, stopping off for blackberry ice cream or apple cake and clotted cream at the famed Hells Mouth café along the way.
