It's a truth splendidly acknowledged that any Cornwall site will be fably placed. A berth anywhere in this cracking county will have happy adventurers within easy reach of beaches, craggy coastline, watersports, the South West Coast Path, splendid old sights including tin mines and old lighthouses… and world-famed hits like the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan: you'll never have to drive over an hour and a half for the whole heap. And how nifty then is a site on the western side of Cornwall, to be handily set for both north and south beaches? Step forward, terrific Trevessa Farm, between the north coast at Hayle and the south coast at Marazion: both must-sees and both within a paltry four miles. You're so stunningly set here that you'll need to stick around for at least a few weeks (show the boss the site pics to plead your case): Trevessa is in a peaceful, scenic, rural and sheltered spot with an excellently-maintained pitching field centred around a working farm (do neigh/moo hi to the horses and cattle while here). There's easy access to the South West Coast Path from here, along with top Cornwall spots like St Ives and Sennen Cove. The site covers three-quarters of an acre, edged by a pretty footpath meandering down to the River Hayle below. It's a couple of miles from here to the nearest village, St Erth, where there's a village shop and post office, a pub and a lively Saturday morning market selling locally-grown veg, free-range eggs, homemade pies, bread, fresh fish and locally produced organic beef, pork, sausages and bacon… it's just as well that barbecues are allowed back at your smashingly scenic Cornish farm base.

喜欢 The view was nice

不喜欢 When arrived was told only had 2 hard standing when we had booked 3 as someone else had booked pitch 2, even tho the sign says you cannot book pitches, was told the 3rd caravan was to go on a gravel track, showers were unclean, pitches were very unlevel considering they are hard standing

喜欢 Very good sized pitches great views and friendly cows!

不喜欢 Probably that there was no urinals for the gents, with only 2 loos available (for the males) it can get quite busy Not everyone comes with a toilet facility in a small tent.

喜欢 Small quiet site with clean facilities that were just what we needed. We never had to wait for the shower or the toilet even when the site was full.
There are a number of beaches in easy access on both the north and south coasts. St Ives is just down the road but getting the train from St Erth made it easy

不喜欢 Slight slope to the site meant things had a tendency to slide on tables

喜欢 Very clean nice touch to have tea coffee and biscuits etc. Location was very quiet and scenic overall a very good experience.

不喜欢 Would have been nice to have to deck chairs or comfier outside chairs.

喜欢 It was value for money. The facilities were basic but clean. I enjoyed the location, seeing the cows in the field was a highlight. It's a quiet, small site, in a rural setting. The location is good for exploring both the north and south coasts.

不喜欢 The tent pitches are on a slope which meant it was uncomfortable as I kept sliding off my bed during the night., this is mentioned on the website so I was aware but didn't realise how much it would affect me. To get to the campsite was via fairy remote, narrow lanes and many other drivers drove excessively fast and didn't slow when approaching from the opposite direction, not for the nervous or inexperienced driver. Exiting St Erth by the train station took time as the road was very congested, particularly going in the direction of Penzance from mid afternoon. My biggest concern is the temperature of the shower fluctuates dramatically when more than 1 person is using the showers, meaning that the thermostat doesn't work, I was shocked by how hot the water got after it had gone cold when another person was using the adjacent shower. Be careful if using the shower with a small child. I'm sure other people have mentioned the same thing. There was one day where the site felt overcrowded and the 2 toilets but 1 sink and 2 showers per gender didn't feel adequate.

Well now, where does one start? At Hayle first perhaps, to access the South West Coast Path to Portreath (11.9 miles) or the other way to St Ives – six miles, followed by a bite or two in a seafood restaurant. More first-rate scrambles are around nearby West Penwith or Land's End peninsula, home to arty St Ives as well as beaches and coves so spectacularly scenic they'd nearly make you weep (as you well might, once the boss summons you back home). This is one of the most lushly scenic parts of Cornwall – yes, that's saying something – have picworthy times at world-famed Sennen Cove as well as at Lamorna Cove and Porthcurno, all within 35 minutes' drive. Weeks' worth of other options are around for day trips, like Paradise Park at Hayle (10 minutes), boat trips on the Fal from Falmouth (45 minutes) and hunting for antiques inland at Truro (50 minutes). The Eden Project is an hour and 15 minutes away.
