Excellent walks, lovely views, peaceful fresh air… it’s all about the simple things when you pick a pitch at Prickly Post. This pop-up site is in a quiet Cornwall location a little way inland from Fowey (about five minutes’ drive from the town centre) and it’s a great spot for a back-to-basics break close to the coast. This is a simple site where you’ll have access to just the essentials, in the form of a fresh water tap and a flushing toilet. Other than that, it’s just plenty of space to soak up the coastal air, rest, relax – and perhaps watch the ponies ambling about. You’ll also be able to bring a barbecue or small firepit for the evening (pick up all the bits you need at shops in Fowey, or nip to the small shop at the local garage, five minutes’ walk away). Those who like to get out on foot should be pleased with the location here – you can walk to Fowey or Readymoney Cove in about 25 minutes, or Polkerris beach in about 40 minutes. The Saints Way and South West Coast Path are both close by for longer walks, and a bus stop at the end of the road to the site means you’ll have options for getting home if your legs get tired. Those bus services can also link you up to train services from Par railway station. Other nearby activity options include various watersports in Fowey or setting off to visit top attractions like the Eden Project, Bodmin Moor and Lost Gardens of Heligan (all within a half-hour drive).

喜欢 Great place for a short stay. Nice surroundings. Quick friendly email response when I asked a question.
Great price. Nice toilets, freshly cleaned early morning. Flexible unmarked pitches. Lots of flat ground along with a bit of sloping ground too. Source of water. Farm style vibe. Gated entrance. Good views. Fairly large field.

不喜欢 Only thing I would have liked is a shower but we knew this was not provided so wasn't an issue.

喜欢 Very basic facilities, but that’s expected with a “wild” camping place. The toilet was clean and well kept, and the ground relatively comfortable.

The campsite was quiet, which we enjoyed, and the horses in the neighbouring field friendly and also chill. Several chairs and a chimnea are provided on site, useable on a first come first serve basis.
