喜欢: Facilities and maintained site and friendly owner and got to see a black and white woodpecker.It was peaceful which was nice as I didn't want to spend time with others

喜欢: If I could score zero stars, I would.

不喜欢: SCARY place, felt totally unsafe. No-one to greet you, totally empty, except one lonely tent that was deserted.
The host, who is only contactable by phone, was a complete ogre. Unhelpful, unkind and disrespectful.
Toilets looked like something out of a war zone.
AVOID!!!!

I apologise for your unhappy experience in the rain and was trying to explain that I was sending you the checkin information and pitch map by return email after I received your booking at 3.17pm. I managed this by 3.42pm by which time you were already having difficulty finding the Field and the gloomy, rainy weather was not helping the mobile phone reception. You did say that you had just seen my email, but were already exiting and did not stay. The other guests here at the time were inside their tent as it was raining and they did not want to get wet.
I have refunded your payment of £38 in full. You should receive it into your bank account 5/10 days.

喜欢: Facilities were excellent well maintained and clean. Alison popped round to met us and had acgrest chat about all the local things to do. The pitches are clear and give plenty of space.

喜欢: I thought this is a lovely little site, I like the way all pitches are made individual by cutting the grass on the pitch but not the surrounding grass. the toilets were okay but the showers were really good, very spacious, I loved the heated floor. Alison was helpful and very nice.

不喜欢: The directions on how to get there. (maybe use what three words)

不喜欢: Only 2 decent showers.
Filthy badly maintained porta loos.
Gas powered showers that could easily scald.

were you scalded in the shower ?? NO you were not as it is impossible to be scalded in any of my showers.
Please do not post false information as that is not acceptable.

Your comments about filthy portaloos are personal comments not actual facts.
I clean them daily.
I am saddened that you had such a low opinion on line when I did not get that feeling when I spoke to you and gave you maps of the area and information about local places to visit.
At no time did you tell me these concerns.

I also do not understand the comment about overpriced as you knew the price when you booked, so what was the over priced element ? if you were concerned about this camping field being overpriced then you could easily have booked somewhere else ?

What price would you have been happy to pay ??

You had free wifi at your pitch.
I am very sad that you have been so unhappy to have posted such a review.

喜欢: Absolutely perfect for what we needed. We used this as a base from which to explore Arundel.
We have a large tent and were offered a good sized pitch. Instructions for turning up were clear; very simple arrival.
Campsite has good basic amenities - plenty of taps and portaloos dotted around the field and plumbed toilets in the shower block, showers lovely and warm, washing up room with fridge and microwave.
Alison came by everyday to check everything was ok.
Excellent value for money.

喜欢: The site was well equipped, plenty of facilities. Lots of clear labels and instructions. Well managed.
We asked for a quiet location which is on the south field and Alison obliged with our request. However - see below comment.
You could easily walk to Climping beach within 20 mins and the pub even less on the way.

不喜欢: Unfortunately because we slept in the pop up roof of our camper van we could hear a lot of traffic noise even though it was further from the main road.
Can’t fault the facilities though.

喜欢: Alison was very accommodating as we had to change our plans a couple of weeks before arriving.
Liked that there was a small communal room with a fridge, freezer and a kettle with coffee provided.
Clean shower rooms.

不喜欢: Abrupt, hostile owner, unhelpful. Told to read emails I never received after we wan t sure how to get in past the height barrier. Site was grotty, driveway in to pitches awful. Stayed for 1 night out of 3 and then left. Overpriced. Would not return.

I am very confused by your extremely hostile review which I feel is actually completely inaccurate and unnecessary.
When you booked, querying your size of vehicle, I put you at your ease and advised that it would fit onto the pitch as below:

Dear Sharon,
thank you very much for your booking, my electric pitches are closer to 9m long and 6m wide. I only put 6m x 6m as a minimum, so you will be able to fit onto the pitch.
I welcome double axles as they all fit too and have not had any problems, but I see your point so may refine my description.

I am a little concerned about the total price that Pitchup has applied to your booking as it is only the rate for 1 night and not 3 nights, so I will check out what has happened as I have received other bookings for these dates
with the correct number of nights x total price.

I will send them a query just now and let you know the outcome,

Dear Sharon,
I need to apologise as I have checked through the rates and allocations that I put onto Pitchup and realised that I have put the price for 1 night as 3 nights onto one date in the whole season !
Friday 18th April !
You are the first guests who have booked from this date, therefore, Pitchup have charged you correctly for only 1 night over the whole 3 night stay. It is entirely my fault and so I will have to honour this price to you.
I have also messaged Pitchup and have corrected my mistake in the rates tab just now.

So, please continue to come for your Easter holiday stay on one of my electric pitches as per your booking.

When you arrived, I received a phone call saying that you did not know how to to get into the Camping Field, even though I had sent you the checkin information on 2 e mails.
You did not seem to understand how to read or receive an email, which was strange as you had no problem earlier as above.

After you finally got onto your pitch, I realised that you had a 2nd black vehicle with a red roof parked directly beside your Motorhome. I saw you filling up your water tank and asked you if it was yours and you said no it was not. I advised that only 1 vehicle per pitch was allowed and you said it was not yours.
I then realised that you had booked for 4 people in 1 motorhome, so presumably the 2nd black vehicle with the red roof was for your friends to stay in. This is not allowed to have 2 vehicles on one pitch. you said that there was only 1 vehicle, when there was clearly 2.
I did not see anyone else with you - which was also strange.

Both the black and red vehicle and your own motorhome disappeared by the next morning and I never saw you again.
As per the thread of emails from your original booking due to my initial mistake you only paid £42.50 for a 3 night stay over the Easter holidays for 4 people which is terrific value for money.
I do not believe that anyone was smoking anything illegal either side of your pitch or indeed anywhere else on the Field.
I do not know what it was, but you clearly had a problem and took it out on me very unfairly,
which I will resolve.
