Setting off for strolls in the South Downs National Park is splendidly easy from Newhouse Farm Wild Camping. This quiet off-grid wild camping site is part of the Goodwood Estate, and it has footpaths running directly from the farm to the South Downs Way and other parts of the network of trails that run through this scenic part of the world. The farm makes a lovely place for a peaceful rural break in the West Sussex countryside, with pitches spread around the perimeter of a large field that's got plenty of space in the middle for chilling out or playing games. There are gorgeous views of the national park landscapes all around, and clusters of trees on site giving a home to local wildlife. It's a wild camping setup here, but you’ll have access to toilets (although please note no showers or hot water). Dogs and kids are welcome, and campfires and barbecues are permitted to help you cook and keep warm by night. And you may well need that warmth, as you’re likely to want to sit out for as long as possible, looking up at the starry displays in this International Dark Sky Reserve. The main Goodwood site is about 10 to 15 minutes' drive away, so this is a handy place to stay if you're heading to an event there. Closer to home is the village of East Dean, just under two miles away, which has a good food pub.

Beautiful view of the sky. was very lucky to have a clear night to see all the stars.

喜欢: The location was brilliant for us, a huge camp field surrounded by woodland from 3 sides, a great sunset view. Remote tranquil location. Live fire is allowed, with fire pits available to rent from the owner (logs are also available). There was no mobile network coverage - which I think was a bonus :-)

不喜欢: It would be good to have some wash-up facilities for the dishes.

喜欢: We loved the wild camping, the beautiful surroundings and the quiet. There is plenty of space so you can be as far (or close) as you wish to the next tent. It was a really rainy weekend, but despite this and the ground being wet, we managed to get by in normal shoes and with normal cars. There is quite a steep hill and mud road to get to the campsite, but this was no problem, even for a 1972 Aston Martin. The car (and our kids) got muddy of course, but nothing that a good wash can't fix. Thank you Rachel!

喜欢: We had a great time camping at Newhouse Farm, this is our second visit here. Rachel is very welcoming & makes sure you are okay & checks if you need any fire wood etc. We also paid a visit to The Milk Hit just down the road, highly recommend getting your milk there! The campsite is very chilled out and you can choose your pitch. There are lots of excellent walks around the campsite. We had such a great time & will be returning in the near future. Thank you Rachel, you do a fantastic job :)
