Fond of a fuss-free but peaceful setting with plenty to do in the local area? Maynards Caravan and Camping Park should certainly fit the bill. Simple, clean and tidy, this site has toilet and shower facilities and is 10 minutes’ drive from the West Sussex seaside. It’s also just half an hour’s walk away from Arundel, a pretty market town with museums, galleries, restaurants, cafés, a lido, cathedral and a castle largely rebuilt in Victorian times. All that is handy to have close by, whether you want a lazy day of café-hopping or an afternoon packed with sightseeing. Keen to go hiking too? Maynards is around a 10-minute drive from the South Downs Way, where you can walk for miles and miles through spectacular countryside. If you don’t want to cook when you get back from your days of adventuring in West Sussex, it's very handy that this site is next door to a pub with a restaurant. It’s also about a 15-minute walk from a convenience shop, café, takeaway and Arundel Brewery.

喜欢 Stayed there for 4 nights had everything we needed local trains and buses on your doorstep to travel around pub at end of campsite owners were lovely helpful it made our stay a very enjoyable one

喜欢 Great location for a stroll into Arundel and castle visit. Friendly staff.

不喜欢 Bathroom facilities need upgrading...open drains aren't pleasant. Only 2 showers. No laundry facilities available.

喜欢 Quiet, next to a beefeater, had a wood fired pizza van come round on the saturday evening, wasnt too busy so space for kids to run around, toilets showers etc were very clean

不喜欢 Parking was a bit hectic (but was faced away from others so all good) no signage for grey waste, black waste flush wasnt very good, could only pay in cash no card payments or bank transfers.

喜欢 What a lovely simple site. Owner was friendly and very helpful with local information. Site was within walking distance of Arundel town and castle.
The toilet/ shower block was very clean and well stocked the showers were lovely and hot. A very relaxed atmosphere we will return again

不喜欢 Could do with better signage for the site at the entrance to the main beefeater car park the campsite entrance is not very obvious on entering the big car park .
The campsite entrance is to the far side of the beefeater car park down a pea shingle drive.

喜欢 We had a great time staying at maynards. Plenty of space, electricity hookup, clean and well stocked toilet and shower block. Host was polite and helpful. They even provided a picnic bench for us to use.

Children were allowed to sing loudly and play football at 630 am


The pub next door..avoid..got bad stomach from the draft lager. Didn't eat there.

When you’re on holiday in this area, chances are you’ll want to head for the beach – and there's a good selection of seaside resorts to choose from. Closest is Littlehampton (10 minutes’ drive), with its promenade, theme park and amusement arcades. Worthing (25 minutes) has a traditional pier with a theatre and elegant restaurant, and there are a number of beaches with sandy expanses at low tide in Bognor Regis (20 minutes). Other kid-friendly ideas include WWT Arundel (10 minutes) for boat trips through the wetlands to see rare pelicans nesting. Toddlers also usually love the mini-train rides and dinosaur trails at Drusillas Park (45 minutes), while older kids may prefer fast-paced driver days at Goodwood Motor Circuit (20 minutes) If it’s history and heritage that pulls you to West Sussex, make tracks for Bignor Roman Villa to admire ornate floor mosaics, or tour the Elizabethan house and estate at Parham House and Gardens (both 20 minutes). Arundel Castle (half an hour’s walk) is a melange of architectural styles, and you can dig deep into rural life in the impressive Weald and Downland Living Museum (half an hour's drive).
