Take a breather from everyday life and reconnect with nature at Little Elses Glamping, a small-scale adults-only site in Sevenoaks Weald that's completely off-grid. Surrounded by the sounds of nature and colourful wildflowers, these furnished bell tents make a great place for getaways in the quiet of the Kent countryside. If you're escaping London for a short break, you can come with just an overnight bag and drive from the capital in about an hour – but it's also well worth settling in for a longer stay to explore the area, which is full of footpaths, cycle rides, restaurants, vineyards and National Trust properties. On top of that, the A21 is a two-minute drive up the hill, meaning you can get down to the Kent or Sussex coast in about an hour. Being located on the outskirts of the village means you're a 10-minute walk from drinks and food at the local pub; there’s also a community shop where you can head to grab a few basics. Driving out to Tonbridge (10 minutes' drive) opens up more possibilities, but if you don't fancy venturing that far, you can either fire up your barbecue for an alfresco evening meal on site or walk five minutes down the track to Giacomo's Italian restaurant just over the road.

喜欢: A great escape from the city hum drum at a short distance from London. Quiet and serene setting, in the country, something we were looking for. The camping site was well equipped with everything we needed. The camp was comfortable and cosy, and the toilet and showered facilities were lovely and clean. Communication with Laura (the host) was great and she made us feel very welcome and comfortable. There was no electricity but we didn’t feel that because the toilet and shower had solar lights and the long summer days made it easy to manage. We has some battery operated torches. There is no WiFi but the phone connectivity at the campsite was good. Loved being off the grid for a bit and appreciate some calm and quiet. There are several lovely walks in the areas which we loved doing. Would want to immerse in this experience again.

喜欢: Loved the setting and the set up, very private and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. The hidden lake was an extra surprise for my partner who headed down there and immediately caught two carp so he was made up! The owners were super friendly and made us feel really welcome. We would definitely stay again.

喜欢: We love everything about Little Elses glamping. It’s our second visit and we will return again. Everything is supplied, cooking utensils, a small gas stove, bbq, cups plates, everything! The beds are so comfy, lovely clean bedding. The fire pit in the evening is a must. We booked all 3 tents took all the chairs to the middle one and had a really lovely 2 days laughing, playing games and sitting around the fire chatting into the night. Perfect.

喜欢: The location is fantastic - a short drive from London and close to Sevenoaks, but very peaceful and quiet. The site and surroundings are beautiful and really well-kept, and the tent and facilities were lovely and very clean. A barbecue, equipment and fire were provided and the hosts have truly thought of everything you could need!

喜欢: The quiet location, relaxing. Fantastic clean shower n toilet facilities. Comfortable bed. The fact we were the only ones there which meant we didn’t have to share/wait to use the toilet shower our dog was able to run free without worrying about others. Was the relaxing break we were looking for!

不喜欢: Only having a cool box no ice packs which would be a problem in very hot weather but shops not far away so you could buy bags of ice to use. Would of liked maps of places to walk and maybe leaflets of places to visit nearby.

喜欢: We liked absolutely everything about it. The area was gorgeous and peaceful, the tents were decorated so lovely and had everything you need to enjoy your glamping trip. The toilet and shower facilities were also great. We enjoyed both evenings cooking on the gas fire supplied and evenings sat by the fire. We had such a lovely chilled time and would definitely go back.

喜欢: Absolutely loved our little get away weekend. The teepee was absolutely beautiful and had everything you needed for a romantic get away. The location was superb and loved the fact there was only two other teepees. Loved the toilet and shower faculties too! Would definitely recommend this!

The surrounding area is full of gorgeous greenery, from the lovingly landscaped grounds of Riverhill Himalayan Gardens (five minutes' drive) to the 26-acre walled garden at the National Trust's Knole Park (10 minutes) and The Lost Gardens of Sevenoaks (15 minutes). For outdoor wine tours, try The Mount Vineyard (20 minutes). In the mood for something slightly stronger? Check out the artisan gins, fruit brandies and rums on offer at Greensand Ridge Distillery (15 minutes). This Kent landscape is also full of history – the former archbishop's palace at Knole House (10 minutes), Churchill's favourite stomping ground at Chartwell (15 minutes) and the double-moated 13th-century Hever Castle (20 minutes) are just a few of the local heritage attractions not to be missed. Sport and leisure options are plentiful here too – just down the road, there's Nizels (five minutes), a golf club, health club and spa; both Sevenoaks (10 minutes) and Tonbridge (10 minutes) have well-maintained public pools. For something on the wilder side, you could swing from the trees at Go Ape Bedgebury (30 minutes) or don a wetsuit and try kitesurfing or paddleboarding at Be-Rad Watersports near Eastbourne (an hour and five minutes).
