Plant yourself firmly in the cherry orchard at Painters Farm Campsite beside the village of Painters Forstal in Kent, where cherries aren’t the only thing blossoming. Previously owned by the same hands for over 50 years, the new owners have injected a new lease of life into this family-friendly and dog-friendly two-acre site… welcomed by barns adorned with fairy lights and the sweet shade from cherry trees, you’ll be well-situated to take in everything from chalk cliffs to wistful woodlands in the surrounding sloping Kent Downs, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Plus, go from grassy pitches into luscious sands, as the coastal town of Whitstable is within 25 minutes’ drive. Here, you can sample sunsets while eating oysters or head out to sea on a sailboat if you wish. The local area is certainly awash with things to do. Perhaps settle for a pint of local ale or a meal in the nearby Kentish pub, within two minutes’ stroll. You could head into Faversham (just a five minutes’ drive) for ice cream shops, cafés and pubs set in what was once a busy port in 17th-century England (famed for its wool trade). Here, walk its cutesy medieval street (one of the oldest in the country) or stock up on supplies from its supermarket within five minutes’ drive, ready for a light barbecue or campfire back on site. If you’re thirsty from the day’s jaunts, there’s also the country’s oldest family-owned brewery within 10 minutes’ drive and a large food hall with naturally scrumptious farm foods within the same distance.

喜欢 Return visit for us, as we had a great stay here last year. A warm welcome from the hosts who let us check in early. Stayed for a couple of nights this time, and took advantage of the fire pit hire on site and the excellent pizzas in the beer garden of The Alma Pub, which is a short walk away.
Bonus ploughing match in the neighbouring field on Saturday.
Facilities excellent and spotless.
The dog met some new friends and enjoyed walking in the local fields & lanes.
Great Wifi signal around the site.
Highly recommended.

喜欢 Beautiful well maintained site. Lovely friendly owners who were always on hand to help. Shower block was always clean with plenty of hot water. Very dog friendly

喜欢 Warm welcome and generally friendly atmosphere. Good facilities. Pitches flat.

不喜欢 Showers OK but amount of water coming from showers rather small. Entry road rather overgrown only just wide enough for our motorhome.

喜欢 Although only two showers for male and two for females the facilities were excellent.
I initially had reservations as to long waits for showers but there were none.
The site layout enabled friends to pitch together which made for an overall 5 star stay.
Rules regarding noise after hours meant that the overall stay was relaxed and very pleasant.
I would recommend this site to anyone wanting to visit Faversham or to just relax and chill on the campsite.
All staff are very friendly and more than happy to help with any issues.

喜欢 Cleanliness of the toilets and showers. Shower was nice and hot.
Nice big, flat pitch. All facilities are close by.
Hosts Karen and Simon are helpful, friendly and will deal with any issues you may have. Our issue were with some noisy campers at night but Karen dealt with them fairly and efficiently.

不喜欢 The noise at night from other campers but this was addressed by Karen.

喜欢 Love this fairly small, well run campsite. This was our second visit and definitely won't be the last! The facilities building is kept clean and well stocked with toilet paper at all times. Karen and Simon, the onsite management team, are always available and so very helpful and super friendly. The site is well situated, with plenty of places to visit within a 20-50 mins car drive away - seaside towns / zoo's and wildlife centres / Digger Land etc. and all the major grocery stores within a 10 min drive. Campfires in a firepit are allowed and a limited amount are available for hire, along with the sale of logs and kindling.

喜欢 We had a lovely stay at the Campsite. our pitch had plenty of room for our 6 man tent :) First night we had pizza from the local pub just 5 mins away. The pizza was amazing :) My kids always had things to do ,playing with other kids there :)

不喜欢 Not really been here 3 times now, soon to be 4 and many more after that:)

喜欢 Another awesome 4 days spent at Painters Farm Campsite. We were a large family group and Simon and Karen were so accommodating throughout our stay. They are always cheerful and ensure our stay was a memorable one. Peaceful location, very clean facilities,
Very reliable wi-fi and the local pub was always a winner with a great selection of food. We have been back home a few days and my children are still talking about how great it was at the Orchard, especially picking the plums from the trees! Thank you Simon and Karen.

Canterbury (20 minutes’ drive) is calling…the town is riddled with UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as Canterbury Cathedral, St Augustine’s Abbey and the Church of St Martin. Pick out cute eateries or shops as a resting point as you work your way around its well-documented history. If the olden times excite your mind, Belmont House and Gardens (five minutes) are nearby, with a marvellous walled garden and traditional tea room. There are more bountiful gardens (and righteous insides) at Leeds Castle (25 minutes). Balance your outings with wildlife and a visit to the safari-style The Big Cat Sanctuary (35 minutes). Or perhaps look towards the red pandas and bears lurking at Wingham Wildlife Park (half an hour). Nature also runs fairly wild in the ancient woodlands at Blean Woods National Nature Reserve (half an hour). If you’re in search of more coastal towns, you won't have to look too far. Follow the coast past Herne Bay (25 minutes and a good stop for jet skiing, windsurfing and other watersports) and into the trendy town of Margate (40 minutes) for fish and chips stalls and seaside rides.
