Was able to bring drinks back to our pitch

I ordered a spicy burger the sauce was amazing

The wife had a slice of pie with mash was fabulous

Facility blocks including shower and two toilets

Only one i took of the actual campsite lol.

Beautiful sunset across the camping field.

First day of rain but the rest of the weekend sunny - perfect.

喜欢: Very large field site. We were able to get the motorhome pretty flat up against the hedges round the field. A great Pub stop. The pubs staff were very helpful and friendly, food and beer excellent. Toilet block and showers clean, waste bin available, Washing sinks available for pots etc. The site provided seats for those who arrive in tents which I thought was a nice touch. Also BBQ pits.

不喜欢: Some services not available so we took our waste and toilet home to empty. Not terrible as we only travelled for a long weekend. The facilities are not on main drainage yet so care needed when using. Owners hope to improve the facilities for next season.

喜欢: Site situated behind a pub that serves great food and beers. Plenty of room at site when we stayed and toilets and showers clean with plenty of hot water. Pub very friendly and helpful staff. Myself with my brother had a great time despite the weather putting a dampener (quite literally) on our planned motorcycle ride out !

喜欢: Amazing,helpful and friendly staff. Great location and lovely hot shower. Dog friendly too,so our dog loved it and is completely worn out. The pub and beer and food shack are great as well.

With something called the 1066 Country Walk running past the site, it’s not a huge stretch to guess that this is battlefield country… The 1066 Battle Abbey and Battlefield site is nearby to relive that all-important day in English history when King Harold (allegedly) got something in his eye, while there are other battle-y relics in neighbouring Hastings which also has Europe's biggest beachside fishing fleet and smuggling adventures at St Clements Caves. The 1066 route is just one of the many scenic walks in the surrounding countryside, or for day trips, Herstmonceux is recommended with its castle and the rural Herstmonceux Observatory Science Centre. As well as walking, Sussex sightseers can take the Kent and East Sussex Railway to puff along from Tenterden through the countryside of the Rother Valley to Bodiam with its National Trust castle, or stay closer to home with a trip up (or down) Hastings’s cliff railway which has the UK's steepest funicular railway. Hang on tight… For less adrenaline-fuelled sightseeing, options include a stroll along the nearby beaches – the seaside is just a short drive away – or a dander around Darwell Reservoir, surrounded by ancient woodland and the chance to spot woodpeckers and tawny owls. Meanwhile, mini battlers will be more than happy with the abundance of attractions in the area aimed at the little people, from the Blue Reef Aquarium at Hastings to getting bug-eyed at the birds of prey at Hailsham’s Knockhatch Adventure Park.
