Smithills View Campsite

喜欢: Easy to find, separate fields for different kinds of camping (ie there was a family field, tent field, campervan field etc) Relaxed place, nice outlook and not too noisy ...recycling and loos not far away. Lovely host with good local knowledge. I felt chilled after a fair drive. Thumbs up from me.

不喜欢: Nothing ...but maybe a small off lead dog exercise area could be a good enhancement? The people next to us let their dog off constantly despite the keep on lead rule. It was a nice dog and you can't help but sometimes attract those sorts of people, but their dog running around wound everyone else's tethered dogs up (I think mine fancied her 🤣). So just a suggestion.

喜欢: Liked everything about it. Booked this site before reading the reviews. I was expecting something out of a nightmare but could not have been more wrong. It’s no mainstream site with every amenity and multiple of. It’s back to basics. It’s a pop up site that’s open 30 days of the year. But it has everything you need for a nice relaxing stay. Hot shower that is not alfresco. It’s been upgraded to an indoor cubicle. It has a hot wash point. It has indoor flushing toilets. It’s well kept and clean outdoors and in. It has a few electric points if needed. There is no reception and no need for one either. The owner is a nice approachable guy. Who comes to meet you as soon as you arrive. Sends you all the details via WhatsApp and is available 24/7 either by phone or what’sapp. There was no need for me to phone or message while there. There are fire pits available to hire @ £5 per stay and bags of logs @ £8 All paid for via QR code. All in all it’s a great site with a great owner. As with every site people have different needs, standards and expectations. If you book here thinking it’s 5 start you will be disappointed. But if you book here for what it is you will have an amazing stay.

不喜欢: Electric was a little pricey @ £10 per night. But can also understand some people take the mick with heating and cooking via electric.

喜欢: The orchid was spacious and lovely, loved it.

不喜欢: Very basic facilities although work is on going. Pot wash basic too I almost fell down broken pallets but there is hot water. Expensive for what you get. A smell of sewerage in the corner of the orchid.

来自经理: Thank you for your review. We appreciate all feedback. We are a pop up Campsite on our farm with basic facilities, but always improving. We noted the one way vent was not replaced following maintenance, now fixed, so hopefully no more smells.

不喜欢: Everything. Sorry 1 Toilet & 1 shower were a disgrace not clean looked like a builders yard Our pitch was not a pitch just rubble mixed with weeds ground So unhappy

来自经理: Thank you for your feedback. Our special place is not for everyone and we are sorry if our extensive photos somehow did not reflect what you found on site. We do not understand your reference to rubble or 1 toilet as we have established a large area of firm road planings and always have at least 2 flushing toilets, + portaloos when busy. We are improving and will open 4 new toilets and 2 showers in 2024. As a pop up Campsite on the family farm we focus on catering for summer season weekend stays with a relaxed and rustic vibe.

喜欢: Hay gran proyecto hay , le falta terminar la obras y acondicionar el sitio , para una noche vale . Muy sucio duchas y baños .

喜欢: Wild feeling in the camping field. We enjoyed the fire pit in the centre of the field and there are two pubs very nearby.

不喜欢: Only two toilets which weren’t very clean (the site was busy with a party booking as well on the Saturday night). The shower was just a hose on the wall. The listing said there was a communal fridge, but I don’t find it. and don’t need creature comforts. Only one water tap near the toilets and the washing up sink was difficult to find.
