A peaceful and secluded coastal setting, sea views and fully equipped accommodation to make life nice and easy – how’s that as a combination for your Lancashire break? If you like the sound of all of this, take a closer look at Cockerham Sands, a family-friendly caravan park in a quiet coastal spot close to where the Lune Estuary meets the Irish Sea. The caravans here are well set up for easy breaks with family and friends – each one has a well-equipped kitchen, a bathroom and an open-plan living space with dining table, sofa and TV. There’s heating for cool days and outdoor seating for warmer times, and beds will be made up ahead of arrival to save you the bother. With so much already sorted in your accommodation, you’ll be free to get stuck in to the site’s facilities straight away – perhaps making a beeline for the heated outdoor pool (open from May to the end of September), taking the kids to the indoor or outdoor play areas or heading to the bar for a drink. The bar is also something of a social hub, with a darts board and snooker and pool tables, plus screens for live sports. The vibe here depends on when you come along – in school holidays there’s a lively buzz with entertainment and activities, with a bit of a quieter atmosphere through the low season.

不喜欢 Opening times of shop not suitable as no food in restaurant due to no chef.

Playground was dismantled and taken away so children had nothing to play on.

Being able to see the sea from the park is a great feature – but you won’t be limited to looking from afar. Morecambe (35 minutes’ drive) is lovely for a seafront walk on the prom or some time spent flying kites on the beach, while Blackpool (50 minutes) is packed with lively attractions including the Pleasure Beach and Blackpool Tower. For a wilder look at the coast, take walks around the limestone pavements of the Arnside & Silverdale National Landscape (40 minutes), looking out for wildlife as you go. Once you’ve stretched your legs there, turn inland to the Forest of Bowland National Landscape (half an hour) for more scenic walking or bike trails. Other day trips might take you to Lancaster (20 minutes) for the castle and maritime museum, to Happy Mount Park (35 minutes) for play areas, splash pads and gardens, or to Farmer Parrs Animal World (45 minutes), where kids can meet all sorts of cute farm animals.
