Mains Farm Camping and Caravan Site

喜欢 The park was spacious, safe and clean. The hosts were welcoming and helpful. We stayed in a pod, which was perfect for a little adventure. It had lighting and electrics and we paid extra for some wood to have a camp fire. The play park was close by, with the options of a walk to the river and town if you wanted it. The shop with honesty box was a lovely touch.

不喜欢 Nothing. Only scored lower on wifi as you’d struggle to access the internet unless you’re in the Wi-Fi area. Not a bad thing unless you need it.

喜欢 This has now become our favourite campsite after 1 visit. Very well managed and run. The campsite was very quiet at night and in the mornings. Plenty of kids there playing in the play area so my boys were so entertained I read a whole book.
The owners of the campsite are lovely, very friendly and helpful. The facilities are very clean. There’s toasters, kettles, a small fridge and a freezer. Everything was clean and well maintained. We will definitely be back

喜欢 Friendly and welcoming hosts. Well equiped site. Excellent location. We met family there and the children were really well catered for too. Would highly recommend.

喜欢 Great facilities, clean toilets and good hot shower with great water pressure.
Lovely little park for the children.
River for wild swimming on site (strong current probably not for children)
Hosts were very friendly and helpful without being overbearing.
Nice little honesty shop on site.
Great views.
Pods nice and clean and also well insulated (our one year old slept well even with a group of us talking outside the pod)
There is a room where you can access wifi although we enjoyed the lack of internet access.
Site is remote although local villages a short drive away.

喜欢 Campsite was lovely and clean, big pitch sizes so is not cramped or close to others. Facilities are clean and we really enjoyed the honest shop. Couldn’t fault the owners lovely and helpful would return again.

不喜欢 There is not much to do around the campsite about a 20-30 minute drive for something however not the fault of the owners

喜欢 Friendly host, quiet large enough pitch, location excellent with river for swimming lovely little honesty shop. We had a wonderful stay.

不喜欢 A lot of flies as working farm, limited toilet facilities with only one woman’s toilet for whole campsite and two showers! No WiFi or phone signal available.

The fly and wasp situation is due to the hot summer I think. However, you are correct that being a working farm this is something we can do very little about.
Mains Farm Caravan and Campsite has 14 toilets and 17 showers. I think you have not explored far enough. If you care to call again, we will be pleased to give you a tour.

喜欢 The setting, the river, beautiful site, clean and well managed. Really enjoyed our stay. We swam in the river and had some gorgeous walks. We even saw a barn owl flying over. We'll return! Thanks

喜欢 Fabulous welcome from Julie and Rob when we arrived - these two know how important first impressions and great customer service are!
Lovely spacious pitches, great location with beautiful river walks and wild swimming on the doorstep. Toilets and showers were well serviced. Honesty shop with fab home made cake and other essentials. Wi-Fi workshop with benches and tables. Just a great site with all you need. Area is ideal for cycling - empty lanes, rolling hills and the best views in Cumbria. We loved our 3 night stay here.
