Farletonview is a family-run site on a diversified farm surrounded by spectacular Cumbrian countryside; every hardstanding tourer pitch has glorious views over Farleton Knott and the fells, yet you’re an easy 10 minutes’ drive from shops and services in Milnthorpe. Farletonview is handy for exploring North Lancashire and Cumbria, while both the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales national parks are easy to get to as the site is only about five minutes’ drive from Junction 36 of the M6. If you’d prefer to abandon the car while on site, it’s 20 minutes’ walk to the nearest bus stop for Kendal or Kirkby Lonsdale. After a busy day out and about, you can refuel on tasty homemade soup, sausage rolls and cakes in the tearoom; alternatively it’s 20 minutes’ walk to the local pub for bar snacks and meals. You have a good choice of inns and takeaways within 10 minutes’ drive as well. There’s no reason to stray too far from your pitch if you don’t feel like it though. Angling folk will be hard to budge from the fly-fishing lake, which operates on a catch-and-release with permits available on site – and if you’re looking for unusual souvenirs of your Cumbria stay, stock up on cottage-garden perennials at the plant nursery. Practical amenities on site include showers, a washing-up station and waste and grey water disposal.

The bathroom facilities are first rate and kept beautifully clean.
There is even a garden centre and cafe on site!

喜欢 Lovely farm campsite. Scenery of the surrounding hills and fishing was beautiful.
Staff were delightful and couldn’t be more helpful.
There is a cafe on site and great facilities, showers, toilets, grey water waste etc.
Pitch was hard standing with electric and was spacious. The whole site was clean and well maintained.
We had a very peaceful stay there. Lovely.

不喜欢 Only minor irritation was the noise from the nearby M6 motorway. It’s not loud but it’s there in the background. Wouldn’t stop me from staying again as we really enjoyed it there.

喜欢 Excellent facility’s new and modern. Very large and well kept pitches. Toilets near the tents well lit up and clean. A few miles from the motorway , excellent base for exploring the south lakes .

不喜欢 No WiFi at the tent’s pitches .

喜欢 All staff on site were very friendly and helpful. The views all around the site were lovely, the little river down the side of the site was perfect for my dog to play in and keep cool. The bathroom/toilets were fantastic, very modern, very clean and smelt very fresh. The little tea room on site was very nice, they don’t over charge for items like other sites do and all seem very home made and personal. I would highly recommend the cakes as we had a few and were all very delicious! There was plenty of lovely walks around the site close by and a canal to walk down with pubs situated close by. Just perfect. Would highly recommend and come back again.

喜欢 The toilet and showers were excellent. Individual wet rooms with toilets. Very modern and extremely clean. The site itself was very well set out and tidy. It is situated on a lake for fly fishing. Very quiet and serene. There is a tea rooms and a garden nursery which appeared to be well frequented.

不喜欢 There was nothing to dislike.

Only a small thing but the post code in the sat nav took us to the Crooklands Hotel. We then asked in the Hotel for directions.

喜欢 Excellent site, one of the best we've stayed on . Well kept , very relaxed. The shower block was perfect , no complaints. Nice little tea shop open at the weekend. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Clise to the motorway so acces to everywhere was easy , but was a dull hum when onsite . I would definitely recommend this caravan park

喜欢 A lovely, very well kept and peaceful site. Pitches are generously sized with hook up position so you face either the fishing lake or the green. Toilet and shower facilities are modern and beautifully clean. There is a plant nursery and small tea shop on site (both open Wed - Sun). Site owners are friendly and helpful.

不喜欢 A very minor point. The showers are a fixed temperature and too hot.

It’s hard to know what to do first when you’re staying at Farletonview, as there’s a whole raft of options within 10 minutes’ drive of the site. For those of you who like to have a nose around old houses, Levens Hall is a statuesque Elizabethan mansion with spectacular knot gardens and walks through parkland, and National Trust-owned Sizergh is a 14th-century castle with period furniture in sumptuous wood-panelled rooms. You can be walking and cycling in the Lake District National Park in 10 minutes’s drive too, as well as going quad biking at the Outdoor Adventure Company or shooting clay pigeons at Crabtree Clay Shoot you fancy a bit more action. Only slightly further away is the popular hill walk up Arnside Knott (15 minutes) for views over the Irish Sea. Not quite what you’re after? Get out on the water with a boat cruise around Lake Windermere (20 minutes), have a flutter on the horses at Cartmel Racecourse (25 minutes), or slip over the county lines for a foray up to stunning Hardraw Force waterfall (45 minutes) in the Yorkshire Dales National Park (20 minutes).
