Moss Side Farm Campsite

喜欢: Lovely views and location close to village with a lovely walk from back of camp and along the old railway line into Broughton.Here was a couple of pubs and shops

不喜欢: Farm dogs roaming around all day. Make sure you secure tents and awnings as we discovered when we came back from a day out the dogs had got in our awning.

来自经理: Very sorry to hear that our farm sheep dog had found its way into your awning. Its has become apparent recently that because she has a litter of pups she has been looking for extra food!! Although we have been feeding her extra portions to feed her up we hadn't realised that she had taken to sniffing her way round campers rubbish bags etc. Huge apologies. She is now under a strict watch and even more food. Louise

喜欢: Location, location, location. Loved it was a working farm, loved the animals visiting. The rail pod was comfortable, if basic. We lit the stove which made it very cosy. Plenty of hot water in showers, could do with more towel hooks though. The rail pod would benefit from a shelf or cupboard to put food. Also the rail pod would be nice with stable/half opening doors, would mean we could sit in cabin with half door open so dogs couldn’t get out.

不喜欢: Nothing negative just suggestions, toilets need an upgrade. Be nice to buy eggs at farm. This is our second visit, won’t be our last.

喜欢: The owner came and welcomed us, she was very nice. The views are amazing and the place is quiet and peaceful

不喜欢: The railway pods have no electric outlets, I know it's described as camping without the tent, but I'd assume if there are lights there would be at least one socket. The mattress protector which was placed on the bed (bottom bunk) was covered in black dog hairs. Also the showers were freezing, no or very little warm water came out

来自经理: Really sorry to hear that the mattress protector had dog hairs on it, I can only assume that one of my little dogs had sneaked in for a cheeky nap whilst the doors were left open, airing the cabin before you arrived. If you had brought this to my attention I would have been absolutely mortified, apologetic and change it right away. Regarding the cold water, we were having issues with our second hot water tank which, unfortunately went on the blink at the start of the Bank Holiday weekend. Usually we manage adequately with one tank but for busy times we switch on the second......it didnt heat up. Fixed now! I dont understand why you didnt bring these issues to my attention while you were here but waited to you were home and gave me a bad review? You say that "The owner came and welcomed us, she was very nice" So why not be "very nice" too? You could have talked to me about the issues, giving me a chance to rectify the problem. That would have been very nice. Louise

喜欢: Lovely views, warm and welcoming site owner. Love the fact on a farm and the animals are roaming around freely. Facilities in process of being upgraded but ideal for what’s needed. Fairly priced for one night stay in the rail cabins.

喜欢: Great location, lovely views. Good walks straight from campsite.

不喜欢: Quite a few noises to wake you up through the night. Sheep next to your tent munching grass or baaa ing really loudly. Too many dogs barking at times which was annoying.

喜欢: -Easy to locate -clean toilet and washing facilities

不喜欢: We weren’t aware there was more than one tent pitch, I was only aware of the pitch in-front of the farm but later arrivals were pitched up further into the grounds. This may be due to the owner not being on site at the time of arrival. I did call her mobile as requested on a board but was only made aware of the patch in-front of the barn. if this was sign posted we would have noted this… leading onto the issue with the 10pm quiet hour. The quiet hour didn’t start at 10, The cabins behind had some rowdy occupants they were loud until at least 00:30, This was a little irritating to say the least. The owner shouldn’t have to be available all day to guide guests but may I suggest numbered pitches or a clearer route or map on hand to space people out

喜欢: Tent pitches were good size! Ability to park next to pitch! Toilets and showers were well lit and clean! Amazing views and scenery. Loved the wildlife that was freely walking! Sheep's, dogs, horses, goats!
