Hadrian's Wall Campsite

喜欢 My wife and I, together with our little dog, had a lovely stay at this beautiful campsite in our little campervan. The staff were really friendly and helpful. We had a great nights rest on this quiet dark site, perfect for stargazing whenever the clouds part. We had a coffee and a bacon bap in the little on-site café on the morning of our departure to send us on our way.

喜欢 Really clean facilities, site was lovely and well maintained. Lovely flowers and landscaping between pitches! Convenient reception area which also serves as a cafe and shop if you run out of essentials. Were able to hire a fire pit and purchase logs too which was great for a chilly evening!

Also had washers and dryers, we weren’t anticipating on using them but needed to dry some clothes off after some heavy rain while we set up our pitch

喜欢 Excellent location, you can walk straight to the highest section of the wall and catch a nice pub on the way back. Friendly people. Nice that you can get a breakfast.

不喜欢 Pitch is hard to reach by car in wet conditions. Campsite a bit exposed (although much less than with my previous visit 20 years ago).

喜欢 Everything, warm welcome. The guy on reception popped up everywhere always busy. A lady cleaner seemed to make an exceptional job.

喜欢 Beautiful surroundings. Ideally situated for walking and getting buses to historic sites. Lovely, well kept site, spotlessly clean facilities. Friendly, helpful owners Breakfast options were popular.

喜欢 Great hosts, nice clean sight and well kept toilets and showers. Your own water and hook up.

不喜欢 A personal thing for us maybe but too regimental. Not enough grass and your only view was a fence or next doors campervan. My brother had stayed here earlier in the season and his pitch was more of what we'd have liked.

In terms of your "disliked" feedback, we have a few different types and styles of pitch at our campsite with different price points. You chose a hardstanding pitch which are in rows of 3 on 2 separate levels. I suspect your brother may have chosen a hardstand with grass pitch which are slightly more expensive (£2 a night).

If you had only spoken to us at the time then we could have relocated you. We can't help once someone has left us of course. What a shame you feel that you wont come back to stay again. I am sorry.

We’re really pleased you enjoyed your 1 night with us, liked your pitch, and appreciated the friendly welcome. We always do our best to help guests, and on this occasion, Steve set up a hose to your pitch, so you didn’t need to drive the 15 metres to the water point.

Our site is set out in tiers to provide space and beautiful views rather than multiple rows of tightly packed pitches. This layout does mean that water points can’t be positioned on every level, and we hope guests will understand this as part of the trade-off for the peaceful setting. Our 12 hardstanding only (gravel) pitches do all have individual water taps.

We’re glad you enjoyed the positives of your stay and hope to welcome you again in the future.

喜欢 Very nice well planned and sited pitches. Great shower and toilet facilities really warm and cosy. Amazing walks and local attractions to see well worth staying.
