If your travels usually revolve around seeking out good food, you'll likely do well at award-winning Maustin Park in west Yorkshire’s Lower Wharfe Valley, home of the excellent on-site Stables Bar and Restaurant. For not only does it have a full menu of homemade food cooked from locally sourced ingredients, the owners reckon the desserts are legendary throughout the local area; it might be worth booking a stay on this basis alone… The bar is open from Wednesday through to Sunday, with food and takeaway services at selected times, alongside a great selection of local ales, wines and flavoured gins. (See notices for more details of opening times.) Tend to feel sleepy after strenuous stints of indulgence? Snooze everything off while surrounded by the park’s peaceful greenery or in the reading lounge; alternatively, you can get a game in on the bowling green, start up a snooker match in the dayroom or head for a wander beside the River Wharfe (minutes away on foot). Fishing can be had on the water and birds can be spotted in the trees during your walk: the park makes a great base for a twitching hol as species including rare red kites are often seen around the region. More of a browser than a birdwatcher? Maustin Park’s in the middle of the Yorkshire triangle of Harrogate, Leeds and York (20, 30 minutes and 45 minutes’ drive away respectively). Wetherby’s 15 minutes away and holds a town market every Thursday. Handy amenities on site include toilets, showers, a washing-up area and a laundry room plus waste disposal and water taps.

喜欢: Lovely site very clean will be visiting again. Staff are friendly. Nice club house food was delicious. And got to see the Aurora borealis . Jane manager was lovely taking time out to talk to guest .

露营舱

喜欢: Peaceful, clean and friendly staff. Pod was a lovely size and a comfy bed.

不喜欢: WiFi was very poor as we were told when we checked in at reception. Unfortunately our phone signal was also very poor. This being said we still had a lovely stay. ONLY DOWN for us was the pods need new blackout blinds otherwise sunrise certainly announces its self through the doors

喜欢: Unusually small number touring pitches, staff attention to every detail of our stay, an excellent bar and restaurant on site, which also provided an opportunity to socialise with residents from lodges and static homes. Great range of local walks available.

不喜欢: Only one shower and toilet available for each sex.

喜欢: Friendly staff, delicious food from a great menu! gorgeous surroundings and excellent facilities! What more can anyone want? Oh and the live rock band were ace too!

喜欢: Everything! The site is very well kept and the facilities were spotlessly clean. Our stay was great. Very friendly people there. Everything was perfect. Excellent bar and restaurant on site with exceptional food. Live entertainment on Saturday night was an added bonus. The site is in a very quiet, rural position. Beautiful countryside surrounding it. We will be back 😊

喜欢: Stayed at maustin park for 3 nights over the Bank Holiday weekend, second time here, had a great weekend, lovely site, spotlessly clean,great facilities also very friendly people and made to feel welcome not to mention the food at the stables restaurant which is outstanding. Can't fault this place and would highly recommend to others.

喜欢: Lovely, quiet location, fully serviced pitch, staff very friendly and helpful especially the groundsman ( we had our bonnet up, as husband had been checking oil and water, Groundsman was concerned that something was wrong and offered any assistance or tools, also checking next day all was ok), toilet block in close proximity, great facilities, day room with activities and a bar ( though we didn't use)

不喜欢: Only 1 shower, fortunately not busy when we were there, needs to be a mat or wooden block on floor for when getting out of shower, a hook nearer shower would also be useful in the womens for towel, (apparently the mens block had an extra hook

喜欢: Friendly staff from start to finish, we enjoyed the best chips we’d ever had! We then had a brilliant night in the bar with a Dolly tribute who was fabulous. The pod was clean, warm and just what we needed. The shower and toilets were clean and has a brilliant shower.

不喜欢: We forgot our kettle and our cooker wouldn’t work and there was nowhere to get a cup of tea.

Once you’ve ticked off trips to the independent shops of Harrogate, the Jorvik Viking Centre in York and the Royal Armouries houses in Leeds, it’s easy to get deep into the countryside as it's about a 30-minute drive to the Yorkshire Dales National Park in one direction and 50 to the North York Moors National Park in another. To blend a bit of history into days out in scenic surrounds, well-preserved old manors with pristine gardens are all around, including Harewood House (10 minutes’ drive) and Ripley Castle (30 minutes). Soap opera fan? A visit to Harewood’s estate is also your chance to tour the studios and setting of Emmerdale (just make sure to book in advance). If you're in the company of nippers, they may instead prefer to be taken to the treetop trails, enchanted forest and adventure playgrounds at Stockeld Park (10 minutes).
