Ash Keys Caravan Park is a family-friendly site in a quiet corner of a family-run 165-acre farm. This peaceful spot is at the southern end of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, half a mile from the teeny hamlet of Eshton and five minutes’ drive from more extensive amenities (pubs, takeaways and small supermarkets) in Gargrave. This is a most handy spot to settle in for outdoor activities: you can take walks or bike rides directly from the park, join nearby major trails like the Pennine Way (three quarters of a mile from the park), Way of the Roses and National Cycle Network Route 68. The fab attractions around Malham (Malham Cove, Janet’s Foss and Gordale Scar) are about a 15-minute drive away. The well-kept pitches here all have electricity, water hookups and grey waste drains. The facilities block houses toilets and showers, a washing-up area and an information hub, and there are also recycling facilities and an Elsan point close by. Dogs are welcome on site and have their own dedicated exercise area where they can have a good run about. Barbecues are also permitted, and perhaps at their finest when graced with good food from one of the three excellent farm shops within a 10-minute drive.

喜欢 Spacious pitches all with water, electricity 16a and a grey waste drain on the pitches. In addition a long wire was available with a connection to digital TV aerial. WiFi was a little bit in and out but shouldn’t grumble had it was complimentary. Brand new toilet and shower block with pot washing area and a hub for checking in and walking guides, also some DVD’s to borrow and a few games. Overall loved the isolated location and good views plus ideally located to visit Skipton and Malham Cove.

不喜欢 Only a minor observation. The toilet block especially the ladies could benefit from having power points installed for hair dryers or have fixed ones installed. Maybe not has essential for men but maybe a couple of shaving points?

喜欢 Large piches and well spaced out, visited on a fully booked bank holiday weekend and the site did not feel busy.
It is a very peaceful location and the shower blocks are very clean.
Great for a relaxing break with easy access to cycling and walking trails.

喜欢 Good sized pitches, well spaced out and fully serviced including TV aerial. Excellent facilities including pot wash and dog wash and dry. Bike stands at all pitches to facilitate locking .
Arrival directions and walking/ cycling information sent by email, very comprehensive.

不喜欢 There are only 3 toilets and 2 showers for each sex but that didn’t present a problem.
Didn’t like not being able to contact owner direct as wanted to stay with another family and could not easily ascertain that 2 pitches were available. We were successful by both of us booking within minutes of each other..

Get going in Gargrave (five minutes’ drive) with a waterside walk by the Leeds-Liverpool Canal, then see cascades in action at Linton Falls (20 minutes). Make time for Malham too: a 15-minute drive gets you over to this fab village and its trio of top sights (Malham Cove, Janet’s Foss and Gordale Scar). After that, take an uphill challenge on the mountain paths of Pen-y-Ghent (35 minutes) or head underground to see what’s in store at Ingleborough Cave (40 minutes). Other ways to get about? Perhaps with a day of horse riding from Kilnsey or a rather more laidback trip on the Settle-Carlisle Railway – both are about 20 minutes’ drive away. And if you’ve got tiddlers who’d benefit from staying in one place for a while, there’s plenty to keep them amused among the animals, tractor tours and play areas of Hesketh Farm Park (20 minutes).
