Elegant, Georgian-era Lilling Hall Farm is in a rural setting surrounded by peaceful North Yorkshire countryside. With just a few pitches on its paddock, this adults-only spot makes a convenient base for nature lovers, walkers and cyclists who like to mix up their holidays with a dollop of history and culture. The level grass camping field has mature trees for shelter, and there are a couple of seating areas in secluded corners of the garden where you can relax on sunny days. The friendly site owners are happy to dole out teas and coffees (and the occasional seasonal fruit or free-range egg) on your arrival, and chat about what you might do during your stay. You may get to watch horses being schooled during your stay (please note, due to the horses, no dogs are allowed on the site) – and thanks to the lack of light pollution in these parts, when clear, the night sky is awash with stars. Thornton-le-Clay village (10 minutes’ walk) has a couple of pubs, and there are many more to be discovered in surrounding villages, where you can rest up after a day’s adventure and enjoy good grub along with Yorkshire bitter. This is a back-to-basics site, albeit one in lovely surroundings, so please be aware that facilities are simple – including toilets, showers, chemical waste disposal and a wifi connection; there is no hot water outside

喜欢: Small peaceful 5 unit site, situated in a field Infront of the main farmhouse. Views over the surrounding countryside and of the horses. Bathroom spotlessly clean. Really friendly host's

不喜欢: Not a dislike as such, but a tight entrance into the farm and also the field. Just be aware of.

喜欢: Very nice owners. The lady was very chatty & friendly. Both very friendly.
Showers were awesome actually in the house & toilet. Cleaned after each use.
Silence all around absolute heaven. Lots of walks or rides about but I was resting so didn’t do anything active this occasion. Couldn’t suss the bus route out not really accessible but was disappointing but we just used the van & left awning.
Beautiful horses in paddock daily but no noise. Lovely stay & will return.

喜欢: Beautiful peaceful site with the warmest welcome from hosts (in this case, the usual hosts' uncle and his wife), the ideal place to sit, relax, unwind and enjoy nature and the sounds of the farm. Lovely clean toilet/shower room. Can't wait to visit site again, didn't want to leave!

喜欢: We had such a lovely time was greeted with a cup of tea and coffee and biscuits and was a lovely place to stay not busy and we could not have been welcomed more will go back again shower and toilets perfect ,also ten miles from York we done park and ride two adults there and back for under £8 pound good location

喜欢: Lovely area, great views, close to all kinds of shops etc..
Toilet and shower well looked after and clean, needed a torch to get down alley to it as round back of house.

不喜欢: Not having anywhere to clean own toilet or empty. Gentleman who runs the place emptied which was lovely of him, it just wasn't cleaned out.
Access in is not OK for wider caravans, says no twin axles but it should say not suitable access for 8ft wide single axle caravans.
Wifi connection intermittent/ nonexistent.
Electric hook up on extensions from main box.

Great rural location yet only 10 minutes away from the A64 near York .
Toilet and shower very clean and fresh.
Was greeted with a cheerful smile and mug of coffee with complimentary biscuits.
Plenty of local walks to burn of the calories.
Would definitely stay again

If you’re keen to get into those hiking boots, Strensall Common (five minutes’ drive) has easy walks across heathland, while the North Yorkshire Moors National Park (10 minutes) has a whole host of hiking and cycling opportunities through gorgeous villages, as well as more strenuous routes across scenic moorland. All this wild countryside and yet such easy access to the historic city of York (20 minutes), with walks around its Roman walls, the vast minster to have a look around and indie shops to browse in narrow cobbled streets. Romantic Castle Howard (10 minutes) and its Capability Brown landscapes have plenty to keep you occupied, from rope courses to fascinating tours of the art treasure in the stately main house. You can also pick up the A64 at Flaxton Moor (five minutes) for day trips to legendary east-coast seaside resorts of Scarborough (55 minutes) and Bridlington (an hour), or pick up the North Yorkshire Moors Railway at Pickering (half an hour) and steam your way to Whitby (an hour) across the moors. Closer to home, fishing and golfing options are less than 15 minutes away by car.
