High Paradise Farm is very much a wildlife haven… in the North York Moors National Park alongside Boltby Forest, this site attracts a load of wildlife, but it’s also a nice place for guests (and their dogs) to find a base for their adventure, build stick houses in the forest and simply revel in the outdoor spaces. The site is on the eight-mile band between Thirsk (10 minutes’ drive) and Helmsley (25 minutes), but don’t be fooled. The site is still rural. It’s a good drive away from either of the nearby towns and the roads are narrow, twisty and a little bumpy, but worth the journey. The skies are pretty special at night time and it’s quiet here too, aside from the sound of birdsong. The facilities around the site include an amenities block with toilets, a shower and a dishwashing area that may come in handy after a firepit (each pitch has its own picnic bench and firepit). There’s also a chilled-out communal courtyard space with seats and a hammock. In Boltby, 10 minutes’ drive away, you’ll be able to pick your adventure – perhaps horse trekking with the local stables or picking up the Cleveland Way, which runs around the national park. For a pub trip, Hawnby (15 minutes’ drive) has just the place. There are a few other pubs within around 15 minutes’ drive of the site or Helmsey’s eateries are a little further out for those of you who have a picker palate.

喜欢: Quiet secluded campsite. Fire pit/ BBQ provided per pitch, Which took the edge off the cold and mist when I stayed!

不喜欢: Toilets and washing up area a bit far from the camping field but was told this is due to planning permission. They were well cleaned amd always had toilet paper.

Woodland Glade 豪华旅行帐篷

喜欢: Really great site. Lovely cafe & shop selling local produce & fabulous heather honey from an onsite bee hive! The safari tent was spacious & surprisingly warm & dry as we had rain the whole time! Fire pit under cover right next to the back of the tent provided a lovely place to sit at night. Friendly welcome from the farm & site owners & we really enjoyed our stay & will be booking to come again next year!
