喜欢: Being within the Yorkshire Dales has to be the perfect setting.
Lots of walks from the site, sadly some areas excluded dogs, I am not sure why.
The staff were lovely, friendly and very helpful.
The site had good facilities.
The pitches were level even though the site is on a hill.

不喜欢: Not a criticism of the site but the less than perfect score is due to tent dwellers near to me who chose to start their day at 5.30am and ensured everyone else did as well. They also had 4 very noisy dogs. Their presence was unpleasant. They were spoken to by other people camping nearby.

喜欢: Clean, efficient, great views, quiet site no rowdy people.

不喜欢: As a motorcyclist, it’s the gravel drive in.
As a beer drinker it’s the long trek to the pub, which some people will love walking by the river.

喜欢: Rural location & stunning views. The nearby cafe is excellent too.

不喜欢: The 100% gravel pitches are not our preference as it make ls us feel we’re staying in a car park. Would love the option of grass + gravel.

喜欢: Absolutely delightful, picturesque and quiet campsite (stayed outside school holidays) with stunning views and pristine facilities. We will be returning next year in our camper van and would highly recommend to others.

不喜欢: Nothing to dislike really, best campsite we've stayed on, we think. Wifi sometimes a bit slow but fine, overall

当地景点

If one morning you feel inspired to go strolling, there’s no need to pack up the car. The path to Simon's Seat (half an hour’s walk to the top) is barely a couple minutes' stroll from the site and has simply grand views of the Yorkshire Dales. Carry on rambling into the surrounding moors, where there’s a waterfall dubbed ‘the valley of desolation’. There’s not much desolation around, but there is a gorgeous waterfall and a pool to wade in. A short drive will get you to local villages or towns like Grassington (20 minutes' drive), which has art galleries, a cobbled market square and e-bike hire, and Skipton (20 minutes), which has a castle and heaps of eateries. Another good outing is the Stump Cross Caverns (10 minutes). Discovered by lead miners in the mid 1860s, the cave complex has a cinema and exhibits including prehistoric remains of wolverine and reindeer. The caverns have a hilltop walk, but if you’re still in the mood for more good walks, excellent trails include those around the half-mile-long limestone gorge at Troller's Gill (10 minutes) and Rylstone Cross (25 minutes).
