Pitch up in Pickering at Oak Tree Farm Park to be in a prime place for pottering around some of the best parts of North Yorkshire… villages, markets, Dalby Forest and first-rate walking and cycling routes are all close by. Oak Tree Farm is a small and welcoming site on a working farm with friendly free-range hens and a couple of pigs and goats (which the kids are welcome to interact with). Bags of feed are available to buy for a small cost if you'd like to feed the farm animals, such as goats and alpacas. For your own feeding and watering, grab the fresh coffee that's available to takeaway on weekends and during school holidays between 8.30am and 10am. The farm has a toilet block, showers and dishwashing facilities: a £1 honesty box contribution is used for the showers. Oak Tree Farm Park welcomes families and couples of all ages, but doesn't accept group bookings or group multiple bookings.

喜欢 Stayed in our caravan for a week. Peaceful site, no fuss. Left alone and no lists of campsite rules. Good base from where to explore Pickering and the Yorshire moors. Friendly ducks. Nice to walk round and see the Alpacas, goats and pigs.

不喜欢 Toilets could do with minor repairs like doors no able to be locked on some, toilet flush buttons broken but operating and sink plugs jammed or missing.
We were on a fully serviced pitch but it was not clear where grey water could go. I just ran my pipe to the hedge at the back of the plot. We didn't try the showers, used the one in the caravan.

不喜欢 Site is quite windy and exposed, you have to be prepared for that.

喜欢 Electric pitches, friendly host who kindly lent us an electric hook up extension cable, and the cute animals. The place was very neat - freshly cut grass; 4 bathrooms and washing up area. Easy to pitch up tent - level pitch with soft earth to put tent pegs in. Peaceful. We are camping novices so it was nice to have a friendly and helpful owner ensuring we were set up well.

The animals were entertaining.
The showers were hot and powerful.
Free to pick own pitch.

不喜欢 The 4 bathrooms really need updating, maintaining and daily cleaning. They became unpleasant during busy times. We only saw them cleaned once in the 6 days we were there.

喜欢 Lovely site, lovely bathrooms and wash areas. Power showers and lovely and warm. Also very nice having the ducks roaming around and greeting us in the morning 😊 nice family environment. Will definitely stay again. The only thing that would improve the bathrooms is a hairdryer of some sorts for us ladies. 👯‍♀️

Most tastes and budgets are catered for in the shops, cafés, restaurants and bars of nearby Pickering, a town that's also home to the highly popular North Yorkshire Moors Railway and the start of its 18-mile run through the North York Moors National Park and the neighbouring villages of Goathland and Grosmont. Trains run daily from the beginning of April to the end of October. From Grosmont, flit to the seaside resort of gothtastic Whitby for Whitby Abbey, sailing, surfing and diving, the Whitby Regatta and award-winning fish and chips at the Magpie Café. Dalby Forest is within a 10-minute drive of Oak Tree Farm Park and is filled with activities like paintballing, adventure courses, walking and cycling routes, and treetop adventuring at Go Ape. There's also a visitor centre with stacks of organised events and activities, and plenty of picnic areas for forest-based food. Also locally, markets selling local produce of high quality are in Pickering, Kirkbymoorside, Helmsley and Malton.
