This is a fine spot for folk looking to get out on walks and bike rides, or in search of other outdoor activities, that’s for sure. In the countryside and only half an hour's drive from the coast, Southview Farm makes for a rather splendid base… The small and privately-owned North Yorkshire site is also three miles south of the market town of Stokesley and about half an hour's drive from the centre of Middlesbrough. The views from the site give something of a hint that the Cleveland Hills are nearby, with the huge expanse of the North York Moors National Park another option on the activities front. If you fancy a few lungfuls of sea air on one of your strolls, set forth for Saltburn-by-the-Sea – it’s about half an hour’s drive from here. Any dogs out there hopefully wagging tails at the idea of all this should be pleased to hear that they’re welcome to come along for a stay at Southview Farm. It’s also a place that allows outdoor cooks to have a go with their barbecues, although there are several places to eat, drink or pick up takeaways in Stokesley if you’d rather someone else did the honours.

Location for great walking and views of the hills in the distance .
Good size pitches .

不喜欢 Unfortunately we ended up between the only two noisy families on the whole site , kids playing hide and seek around our van and a large game of tag rugby inbetween us and other campers meant we didn’t get the peaceful evening we anticipated ! Dave was aware and did sort at the quiet time on the site so had a peaceful night at least! Maybe they should have used the large empty adjoining field for their noisy fun.

喜欢 A truly beautiful campsite with scenic views over the hills.
We had a great stay here and will be coming back for sure.
Site facilities were clean and well maintained. Site was very tidy and well managed.
Dave the site manager is a true diamond. He is polite and helpful in every situation.

喜欢 Extremely good value for money. Very friendly. Facilites were clean and spot on for the price point. I read a review about only 2 showers. However, with the low number of pitches in use and with the pods having there own facilities this seemed absolutely appropriate. No queues at all. Will definitely return with this in mind.

喜欢 Lovely little site, Dave was so helpful after I was given an air awning which clearly had a puncture l, he was straight over to help me, he also gave me some too when I realise I had forgotten something to tie the dog up with.

He honestly couldn’t do enough, this site has everything you needful for a peaceful and tranquil stay. Thank you we will be back!

喜欢 This is a lovely quiet peaceful campsite with superb views. The owners and campsite manager ( Dave) are SO friendly and welcoming ( as were many of the other campers). The toilets showers washing and disposal facilities are all fine and everywhere is tidy and clean. The price it s also exceptionally reasonable for ehu and hard standing. Will v probably be back sometime.

It’s likely you’ll be spending a fair bit of time out and about in the wilderness (or countryside, seaside, whatever else you’d like to call it) and with that comes some gorgeous wildlife and walking trails. Leven Valley Alpacas (20 minutes' drive) combines both – treks through an 11-acre farm with alpacas for company – while Butterfly World (25 minutes) is a rainforest with butterflies of all shapes, sizes and colours. As for those lengthier hikes, the trails at Roseberry Topping (15 minutes) will take you to the woods and a hilltop with views over Cleveland. Guisborough Forest (20 minutes) is just as adventurous, with a woodland cycling trail or hiking trails. There’s Saltburn-by-the-Sea (half an hour) when you’re craving a stroll along the seafront too… or a trip up the cliff tramway and a surfing session on the sandy beach. If you like your strolls a little more historic, you’ll have a monk’s cell and ruins of a medieval monastery to explore around the National Trust’s Mount Grace Priory (15 minutes) and at the National Trust’s Ormesbury Hall (20 minutes), an 18th-century mansion. Cleveland Ironstone Museum (35 minutes) is another historic place, with mine remains, 3D models and collections from the 19th century.
