Orchard Wild Camping

喜欢 Lovely little semi-wild campsite. Plots are large but also manage to feel secluded thanks to nice wild hedgerows and apples trees separating the different areas.

I arrived on a motorcycle and had very little equipment with me, so I really appreciated that every plot has proper seating and a nice firepit. Firewood, kindling, lighters available on site at a reasonable, honesty box payment method.

Solar heated shower was excellent, and the off-grid toilets were fine.

There is a bit of traffic noise from the A12 but you hardly notice it and I actually quite liked the background noise at night.

Nice pub 5 minute walk.
Big Tescos and Waitrose 20 minute walk.

Would definitely stay again.

喜欢 Large pitches with fire pit, plentiful seating, tables and benches surrounded by flora and fauna and an abundance of blackberries and tasty eating apples in august/sept. Basic but clean toilets, solar shower is amazing. Thoughtful items in wood shed for campers
from extra sleeping bags to outdoor games

喜欢 The owner is great to chat with and he had everything set up for us, including benches and table, firepit and wood. Great spot for fun and recuperation. Everything is clean and tidy. Each pitch feels secluded and quiet. The nightskies are great and plenty of opportunity to see and hear bird.

不喜欢 Some noise from A12, but not overly disturbing.

喜欢 Absolutely superb site. We had a large group 4 dads and 4 sons. The site was just what we needed. Plenty of space. Thank you for looking after us

喜欢 The site is heathland dotted with bushes so the pitches can be secluded. Many have fire pots and chairs, wood and fire lighters are available. Eco showers are excellent.

不喜欢 The location map on pitchup is wrong, use Googlemaps and it marks correctly the entrance point off the A12.

喜欢 Such a great place, very chilled, little light pollution on camp so had a stunning starry sky that night (which was a big reason for our camping trip)
Portaloos were clean
Didn't check out the shower
No dogs, I have no problem with dogs at all, love them, but my son is terrified so it was nice to not have that worry for his first camping trip
Little hut with some bits and bobs and essentials to purchase

喜欢 Idyllic secluded pitches in a spacious campsite. The noise of the road was to be expected being so near the A12 but convenient for getting around the local area. The portaloo/compost toilets were clean and the shower in the elements was fine and hot! Simon was there on arrival to help us find the most suitable pitch but they all looked great with various, benches, tables, hammocks, bbqs around the site. Obviously it would be easier if there was running water but there were bottles on arrival and a water container for washing up etc. We loved the blackberry and apple picking too! Thanks Simon - it’s a great plot!

喜欢 Perfect combination of wild for us, toilets were clean and solar shower was hot and powerful. Pitch was private and very generous in size with our own large area approx 17m x 17m for 2 tents, a pop up gazebo and car with picnic bench, 2 other benches and fire pit provided, and an abundance of apples and blackberries during our August visit. Will definitely be returning next year.
