Whether you’re interested in witnessing the serene day-to-day life of well-kept farmyard animals or (vegetarians, look away now…) eating zero-kilometre sausages and burgers, Crowcroft Campsite might be the place for you. The owners of this pop-up site on a 40-acre smallholding on the eastern fringes of the spectacular Malvern Hills National Landscape raise rare-breed cows and pigs; while on site, you might also come across lambs and free-range chickens. The presence of farm animals doesn’t mean your (well-behaved) dog isn’t welcome at Crowcroft – quite the opposite: there is a dog park on site where they can run around off lead, plus dog-friendly footpaths and bridleways in the surrounding countryside. Alongside grass pitches, the site has a toilet and shower block and a kitchen and games room where you're welcome to use the fridge-freezer. Don't miss the mobile shop (open from 9am to 10am), which sells the site's own homemade burgers and sausages, steak and chops (when available) and free-range eggs, plus other handy items like milk, bread, orange juice and ice creams. Some of those will need cooking, and handily, firepits and barbecues can be hired from the site for an additional charge; you can also buy a box containing firelighters and some firewood to get you started. Leigh Sinton (five minutes’ drive) has a small shop for essentials (for anything else, head into Malvern, 10 minutes' drive), plus a takeaway restaurant and a pub serving locally sourced food and a selection of cask beers. As for smaller snacks, on site is a garden centre (open from Thursday to Sunday) selling coffee and cakes. Long hikes in the Malvern Hills will likely keep you busy here. Check out the Knapp and Papermill Nature Reserve (10 minutes), which comes alive with bluebells, cowslips and orchids that attract colourful butterflies. There are fishing ponds at Leigh Sinton Fisheries (five minutes) and a golf club in Bransford (also five minutes), on the A4103 road that connects Worcester to Hereford.

喜欢 Lovely bathroom facilities. Flat and spacious pitches.
Covered washing up and seating area, nice to have a place to sit if it's raining (other than your tent!)
Great WiFi if you sit in the covered barn.
A daily visit at breakfast time, from the owners selling, bread, croissants, milk juice and sausages was a lovely touch.

不喜欢 One of the toilets didn't lock , this is just a minor niggle.
Maybe two showers would be better.

喜欢 Great location, easy to find and perfect for a day exploring the Malvern Hills, or just relaxing with the glorious views from the campsite. Liked the fact there were no formal pitches, and the owners were really friendly and brought fresh produce each morning (a tasty sirloin steak for the BBQ and a rump steak to take home!). The facilities were new & clean, and as long as you timed it right they were not too busy. The covered shared area was perfect, a few games, fridge/freezer and sinks plus comfy seating meant you could shelter from sun/rain (in our case endless sun). Dog excercise area was a nice touch too. Liked the reasonable price too.

不喜欢 Not a dislike (as we couldn't find any fault) but more a feedback of what may be a possible improvement... shelves in the toilets would be good for a wash bag whilst you're cleaning teeth, & loo paper ran out of hubbies gents loo... but we'll bring our own next time just in case :-)

喜欢 Really good set of amenities, they have a shared fridge which is great and the owners have a produce van which they bring round daily with bbq meats and breads and milk etc as well as an onsite coffee van!

The estate features vast stretches of ancient woodlands, as well as a whopping 145 acres of apple, plum and damson orchards crossed by hardstanding paths. Sitting on the banks of the Wye, Hereford (35 minutes) has several riverside green spaces, such as Bishops Meadow and Castle Green, which are linked by the pretty Victoria Bridge. Hereford Cathedral houses the Mappa Mundi, a map of the world as it was known in the 14th century, while the Black and White House Museum, in a half-timber building in the main square, displays period furniture. With the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, Shakespeare’s Birthplace and multiple Shakespeare-inspired establishments, Stratford-upon-Avon (one hour) could be all about the Bard.
