Revel in rural comfort when you book a stay at Model Farm Luxury Lodges. Found on a working farm 10 minutes’ drive from Tamworth in Staffordshire, accommodation is in smartly kitted-out pods that put you within easy reach of attractions including Drayton Manor Resort and Twycross Zoo (both 20 minutes’ drive), so the site is handy for family breaks and getaways with a couple of pals too. The solar-powered pods sleep up to four guests in two bedrooms (all linens supplied). Each has a shower room and a kitchenette with all the essentials for cooking and cleaning, including a full-size oven and dishwasher. All utensils, china and glassware are provided, along with coffee machines for the all-important morning caffeine boost. Comfy sofas beckon in the open-plan sitting areas, along with a big-screen TV for quiet nights in. Outside each pod is a hot tub – heated by an eco-friendly biomass boiler – all primed and ready for you to use, with towels provided. On warmer days, you can hang out on your decking, furnished with a table, benches with cushions and a fridge for keeping drinks chilled. Produce alfresco meals on the chiminea barbecues in your small private garden – a-twinkle with fairy lights at night – or cosy up together around the firepit and soak up its welcome heat.

喜欢 Nice pod that provided us with a nice weekend for my wife's birthday, sharing the pod with our friends.
The place is very beautiful, clean and practical.
The hot tub was a plus plus plus
The bedrooms are big enough and good shower.
Teabags, coffee, milk, chocolates were much appreciated
The area was 20mins away from Alton towers and Twycross Zoo.

Good place, we really enjoyed ourselves

喜欢 Very comfortable and fun stay. Was perfect for 2 friends catching up in mixed weather. The hot tub was super, under cover so when it rained it didn't matter. Thoughtful touches like indoor seating in the patio area. Fairy lights were gorgeous. Pod was comfy and warm. And nice welcome pack was appreciated. Would have liked 1 more night!

不喜欢 Its clear in the info that there is no view as the pod we were in is on the side of a farmyard. And accomm is enclosed. And once we were inside, that didn't matter at all. But just be aware.

喜欢 Lovely modern place, great facilities and nice added extras, comfy beds, nice shower, brilliant spacious outdoor area, lovely hot tub area and fire pit!

不喜欢 There was a lot of wasps in the garden area - seem to be attracted to the plum trees and lots of flies inside.
Was difficult to get wifi.

If kids are with you, they’ll probably be very excited to spend a day at Drayton Manor Resort (20 minutes’ drive), where you can all enjoy water rides, dinosaur trails and the zoo. The penguins, giraffes and elephants at Twycross Zoo are also 20 minutes by car, and if your offspring have behaved well, you can also treat them to rollercoasters and adrenaline rides at Alton Towers (55 minutes). Sneak a bit of local history into your holiday mix with a look at the tanks and recreated World War II bunkers in The Staffordshire Regiment Museum and Mercian Regiment Archive, or catch re-enactments and seasonal activities like fireworks at medieval Tamworth Castle. There’s also a splendid 18th-century mansion to explore at Catton Hall (all 10 minutes). Combine heritage with a good walk at Statfold Country Park (15 minutes), where you can amble around the lake, check out all the historic trains and take a ride on a steam train through the grounds. If a longer ramble in woodland is required, the National Memorial Arboretum is 10 minutes’ drive away, with extensive parkland dotted by war memorials.
