不喜欢 Wish it didn’t come to this review but here we are - we had a bad experience whilst camping here, myself and my friend pitched up near a path and saw some lads walking up and down the path, when we spoke to them they said they had been using it for a few days. When we walked down the path the owner showed up telling us to go out of the campsite and down the road to the main entrance, even though we had just came from our tent. We did as he said to avoid confrontation but when we got back to the tent they came past staring at us giving us dirty looks.

We did leave a poor review on google due to this however the owners replied incredibly defensive stating they informed us that we were trespassing and “politely” asked us to “use the main entrance”. If this had been the case, the google review would never have been made. At no point were the owners polite and they never informed us that we were trespassing. Maybe a sign would be useful to stop this from happening again. We didn’t climb over any fences as they claim we did.

I think the replies made from the owners to every review in google that is not 5 stars proves their confrontational and defensive manner. You can see for yourself the way they have an answer back to every criticism in reviews - not just our own! Any decent business would take on board the constructive criticism left by their customers and strive to do better. Instead it’s a lot of blaming people and snarky replies.

They even went as far as cancelling my booking on Pitchup to try and avoid us leaving a review. I’m guessing this is the reason they only have good reviews on Pitchup - however we think people should be aware of the owners actions and confrontational/rude manner before booking. I think if a business is trying that hard to silence people with a simple criticism, that reflects how they may handle an issue with a booking in person and people should be aware of this before booking (there are other reviews on Google to back this up). The path situation was never that big of a deal, if they had politely told us we were trespassing (which we didn’t know until they replied to our google review) we would have happily left without no issues.

On another note, the showers were dirty and the placement of the toilets next to the food area is so weird. I was queuing for the toilet next to someone making food.

All in all, be wary of staying here. Owners seem to be very abrupt and defensive.

喜欢 Really great campsite, Outstanding views. Food options, pizza and breakfast cart.

不喜欢 Tea was a bit wishy washy and the food cart should be away from the toilet block ideally.

喜欢 Great location close to Tittersworth Reservoir and Leek. Toilet and shower facilities were fine. People seemed to keep to noise down at night

不喜欢 People camped very close even though there was a lot of free space, may be good to try and introduce some more shady areas as that was probably the reason as it was a very hot and sunny weekend.

喜欢 Good location walking distance to reservoir and pubs. Roaches is a short drive away. Flat pitches, proper toilets and friendly staff.

不喜欢 Needs an extra toilet/shower block as only 4 toilets for whole site which is inadequate.
Weirdly the pizza van is right next to the toilets which is pretty gross.

来自经理: Thanks for your review luke.... Just to clarify there are infact 6 toilets and 1 urinal.
4 toilets, 4 showers, 1 urinal and a washing up station at the top of the first field.
Plus 2 toilets, elsan point, and another washing up station at the bottom of the first field.

喜欢 Only stopped one night but had a great stay.
We had pizza which was also good

喜欢 Nice flat pitch with a clear sign that says to park up and pitch up anywhere. I arrived 19:15 on a Saturday evening and it was quite busy, so I stayed in what I’d describe as an overspill type field. Owners really friendly! The onsite homemade pizza looked so nice.
Perfect site super close to Tittesworth Reservoir where I was doing a trail race next day.

不喜欢 Only 4 toilets available closest to me which was still quite a walk. Long queue for the loos first thing which wasn’t ideal - need more for the volume of campers there were!
