What do you reckon is the main flavour of activities at this Nottinghamshire site? Yup, top of the menu at the Holme Pierrepont Country Park, near Nottingham are all sorts of watersports: you'll be able to tackle a whitewater course for canoeing, kayaking, rafting and tubing; paddleboarding, open-top canoeing and the inflatable assault course Wipe Out. But! This is a land-based activity centre too, so if you don't fancy plunging into the foamy depths or would quite like to stay dry for a day, other options can be tackled at the outdoor adventure zone where there's an aerial adventure course, miniature golf, a mini four-wheel drive course for kids, a kids' activity club and archery combat. A large play park, country walks and nature zones are also on site (please note some activities are subject to availability and must be booked at reception; early booking is advisable). Feeling a bit faint just from reading all this and think you'd rather spectate? The centre has kindly included a country park café and a regatta lake where it hosts its own events like rowing and canoe regattas, dragonboat racing and triathlons. Lots is on offer too to keep the kids amused, including a woodland adventure playground and a nature trail a short stroll away. Although all this energetic excellence is only 10 minutes' drive from Nottingham city centre, it's well into the countryside and away from anything townie, as it's deep in the 270 acres of parkland of Holme Pierrepont Country Park. The campsite part of the park covers 18 acres and has a facilities block with showers and toilets, and a site shop selling selected groceries and camping supplies.

  • The height barrier is pulled down from 8pm until 8pm so any taller vehicles above 1.98 meters (6ft 6 inches) needing to arrive or depart outside these times will need to use the exterior car park.

喜欢: Well kept large pitches with lots of open spaces for the kids to play and make friends, clean and tidy toilets and showers and friendly helpful staff would definitely come again

Deluxe Arch 1 间卧室 露营舱

喜欢: The campus is well maintained, it looks great. People were polite, no noise after 10pm, even if there were larger groups in the area. Easy to operate, key codes for keys and toilets.

不喜欢: The arch I've stayed in could've been cleaner, considering I've paid for a deluxe. The floor needed a good clean. The bed is nowhere near king size, as it says in the description, it's more like a double.

喜欢: Pitch sizes , location for the lake ect . Pizza van .

不喜欢: Showers awful, rotten and cold , most didn’t stay on for two seconds or just didn’t stay on . Was ask to move after our 3rd day to let someone else on , I had paid for 5 days , never heard anything like this in all my caravan/camping year’s ridiculous!!!! It’s not cheap , definitely not worth the money.

喜欢: Great location for taking part in water sports or just watching as we did. For something more peaceful, there is a well laid out country park walk nearby. Clean site and toilet/shower block area.

If you've any energy left over or you're hardily thinking that the watery and land-based activities of the Holme Pierrepont Country Park just aren't enough, get along to the cycle paths of Colwick Country Park on the outskirts of Nottingham, which have miles of waterside biking alongside the River Trent. Wildlife watchers can wander around Skylarks Nature Reserve, owned by Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust, highly recommended by the Holme Pierrepont Country Park team and 15 minutes' drive from the site. The cricket ground of Trent Bridge, home of Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club, is 10 minutes' drive away.
