Dip into the nature of Northamptonshire at Freestone Farm – pitches at this small and peaceful site just outside Irthlingborough are part of a working family farm where you can chill out on a short break surrounded by open farmland and natural landscapes. As it’s a pop-up site, things are very simple here, with just portable toilets on the facilities front (please note there are no showers and the site has no hot water supply). You will, however, be able to buy eggs laid by the resident hens for a tasty breakfast fry-up. For all the other bits you need for your meals, there are supermarkets a mile away in Irthlingborough. This is a lovely spot for gentle rural walks – it’s very close to the Stanwick Lakes Nature Reserve and Heritage Site and to Irthlingborough Lakes And Meadows, both great locations for waterside walks. You can also pick up the East Northamptonshire Greenway for longer walks, perhaps to Rushden Lakes Shopping Centre or The Watermill Tearoom and Restaurant. Other activities nearby include golf, canoeing and cycling, and there’s an activity centre a few minutes’ walk away offering things like climbing, archery and a high ropes course. Whatever you choose to get up to, make sure you’re back in time for sunset – they’re often rather spectacular at this west-facing site.

喜欢 Simple site nice and quiet and not too far from Santa pod. The owner was very polite and even lent me some matches for my hob as I’d misplaced mine.

喜欢 Wonderful quiet and lovely place to camp at harvest time, sitting watching the sun go down. . A nice friendly welcome from our hosts. Facilities basic but fine for us. Loved the tranquility here.

喜欢 Open field. Friendly woman who showed us where the toilet was. Toilet roll was always available.
£20 per night fee. No pressure to leave at exactly 11 am.

不喜欢 Outside toilet with small sink that both needed a good clean. Watered-down hand soap.

喜欢 Great site, friendly staff on arrival.
Feels rural whilst close to local amenities. Peaceful and lots of wild life. Lots of space for my boys to run around and play

喜欢 Very lovely campsite, we got welcomed in our arrival, the site was quite and very clean, we had the most gorgeous weather and the sunset was beautiful. The ground was so flat even and dry, the owner of the campsite were very welcoming and friendly. We have been given map to explore the area, it was only 35 nin walk to Stanwick lakes even with children.
