Catanger Llama Farm

喜欢 What an absolute treat it was waking up to the llamas on our doorstep! Such beautiful and curious creatures, we loved them! Also the visits from the owners little dog, mocha, what a cute little character she is!
The caravan was so pretty, set back a little by the woods so it was private and very peaceful. The sunrise was stunning! Amazing views and so relaxing! We also spotted a hot air balloon and a glider, but the highlight definitely was seeing the llamas graze, play and interact with their owner Mary and the resident dogs.

The pull out bed was easy to set up and was really comfortable. We didn’t use the kitchen area for cooking (apart from making a morning brew) but thought it was a great addition, as was the shower unit & camp toilet (again not used as we preferred the short walk to the “real” toilet. We were surprised how well equipped the caravan and kitchen area was, we had brought everything with us to use, everything from camp chairs to coffee - but all of this was provided if we had forgotten anything.

Mary the owner was very welcoming, full of useful information and a lifesaver when we realised we’d forgotten our dog lead! We enjoyed reading about the history of the farm and how with the help of her husband, they have made it into what it is today. The grounds are very tidy and the woodland and dog walking paths are extremely well maintained.

What an absolute gem Catanger llamas farm is, we were very impressed. We definitely plan to return soon - we simply have to stay in the shepherds hut also, it looked equally as pleasant.

喜欢 Lovely farm, Enjoyed watching the Llamas and it is a short drive to the town center

喜欢 Great little Gypsy caravan, in a very secluded location, next to the Llama fields. The owner, Mary, was friendly and helpful.
It was so peaceful and quiet, a great place to relax and unwind. The facilities were quiet adequate.

喜欢 Everything!!! The llamas, the dogs, the wildlife, the grounds, the hosts are all excellent. The peaceful, safe and relaxed environment makes you stop and just be for a bit. The llamas make you smile and the dogs will become your best friend if you are prepared to give a friendly pat and have a chat.
The Gypsy Caravan is a great experience, no electricity BUT that's what makes it so special. Most comfortable bed ever and the warmest duvet I've ever experienced. The gas shower, outside cooking area and fire pit completed our trip.
Access to a "proper" toilet is a short walk away, (camping toilet is right next to the caravan) past gorgeous llamas and wildflowers and can be accessed via stunning forests with wildlife, including deer to be found.

喜欢 Everything. The caravan was super comfy, the plot is a little sub trap. You wake up to views of rolling hills and llamas. Mary and Sarah are the best of hosts and even let us tag along to watch the birth of a new baby llama. Absolutely superb!

喜欢 Staying in a gypsy caravan was on my bucket list and the accommodation ticked the box for achieving it.

The surrounding grounds made for lovely walks which helped pass the time.

不喜欢 There are so many ways that this experience could have been improved through free gestures to minimal cost.

A chalkboard as you enter the gypsy caravan space could have had a welcome message on as we were travelling for a special occasion, bbq equipment that is fully red with rust or broken, more than one toilet roll, more than four matches to light the BBQ, cooking equipment that doesn’t have loose or broken parts, more cooking equipment such as scissors or tongs, an additional battery lantern (one provided) as there are two hooks on caravan ceiling but only one light to use.

We were also unaware that there is a place to charge mobiles so didn’t bring chargers which would have been helpful. In addition, there is a sign in the gypsy caravan outdoor kitchen saying no bins provided so please take your rubbish home with you but there is no black bag or anything to put the rubbish in. These issues could have been avoided if customer service communication was better.

The customer service on the day was challenging too as stated our arrival time but there was no one there to meet us for over ten minutes. A trolley was provided for us to take our bags to the caravan which was helpful but then the host comically strutted off leaving us to try and move the heavy loaded trolley across the bumpy fields to the accommodation with no offer of help or rest.

Little things that could have been provided for free (chalkboard and better information before arrival) to a matter of pounds (battery lantern and cooking equipment) would have made for a better all round experience.
