Tucked in-between the rural villages of Lower and Upper Boddington in Northamptonshire, Coleman’s Hill Certificated Location is a tiny Caravan and Motorhome Club members-only campsite with easy access off a hard-standing track for touring caravans and motorhomes. Mature trees surround the (slightly sloping) grass pitches, which sit on the brow of a hill with spectacular views over fields and valleys. Sheep graze in the neighbouring paddocks and bridleway rambles direct from the camping meadow lead you to Boddington Reservoir (half an hour’s walk) – great for exercising the family and any accompanying canines. From this quiet haven 15 minutes’ drive from Daventry, you can strike out on day trips to Warwick Castle (35 minutes) and book Shakespeare plays at Stratford-upon-Avon (45 minutes); alternatively stay closer to base camp and venture no further than the two local pubs within 15 minutes’ walk. If you’re sticking with self-catering, there’s a convenience store at Byfield, five minutes’ drive away, for picking up bits for your barbecue. Facilities-wise, each spacious pitch is serviced with water and a grey water disposal point; there is a shared chemical toilet disposal point and a general waste bin, as well as a washing-up sink, flushing toilets, showers and an outdoor bath in a wooden cabin at the edge of the field.

喜欢 This is a lovely certificated site perfect in every way. Peaceful site with great views. Each pitch has a tap and grey waste. The toilet and shower block is excellent - lovely and clean. We came during the drought but the firepit and BBQ area looked super - and the honesty bar is an amazing space too. We ate at The Plough in Upper Boddington and can recommend. We liked it so much we decided to stay an extra night and will definitely be returning.

喜欢 Well equipped and kept peaceful site, lovely views and welcoming owner. Plenty to do and see close by if you wish. It was just a stopover for me but will return for longer to explore!

不喜欢 Let down because there was one loo roll left for the site (not a big site) but something so small shouldn’t have been an issue

不喜欢 Nothing to do with the site, it’s just a shame about the HS2 being built, it slightly ruins the view 😢

Jump in the car and head for Warwick Castle (35 minutes), where you can mash-up history and family fun watching raptor displays, getting lost in the Horrible Histories Maze and watching jousting competitions. Take them to see Shakespeare’s Birthplace and his tomb at Holy Trinity Church in Stratford-upon-Avon (45 minutes), or book family-friendly story-telling sessions at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre. Too heavy on the culture? Petrol-heads can book tickets for classic car rallies and track days at Silverstone Circuit (35 minutes), or feast their eyes on hundreds of vintage models at the British Motor Museum (half an hour). Junior motor-racing fans might like to get some practice in by whizzing around the circuit at Shenington Kart Racing Club (35 minutes).
