Hurrah, The Rose and Crown in Holbeach Hurn, near Spalding, is stunning pub site with a village bar surrounded by the Lincolnshire Fens. Families, groups, solo travellers, bikers and dogs are all welcome at this friendly Lincolnshire site. And as the Rose and Crown is one of the last independent breweries in the region, you'll be fairly certain of getting a decent pint too… The pub has all sorts of touches you'll likely like to see in an inn: there's a main lounge and a beer garden with covered seating along with more modern updates like big screens showing Sky and BT Sports. There is also a heated outdoor pool and an outdoor kids' playground. The Rose and Crown is run by Dougie, who wants his guests to have as enjoyable a stay as possible: he's always working on upgrades to the pub and campsite so there's often something new to discover on a stay here… Wifi can be picked up in the pub only (not across the entire campsite), but it can be a bit poor/slow at times because of the rural setting. A supermarket is five minutes' drive away for supplies.

If you are following a satnav, it may well take you down Low Road; ignore this and carry on along Marsh Road, where you will see the Rose and Crown pub (bright yellow) on your right. Check in here, then drive for another 30 yards to reach the site entrance, again on the right. Please don't drive down Low Road as this is only a small lane which tourers and motorhomes find it hard to come down.

You'll find a fair bit to do within a reasonable drive of the Rose and Crown, like Wisbech and its Elgoods Brewery, gardens and maze 20 minutes away, and royal days out at Sandringham within 35. Both Hunstanton and Skegness are within about 45 minutes' drive. Closer to home are two golf courses and Spalding's Springfields Outlet Shopping & Festival Gardens, which also has a tourist point detailing local attractions. Spend a day around the Wash too for birdwatching at Frieston, Gibraltar Point and RSPB Snettingsham and a look at the RAF bombing range where visitors are welcome to watch the aircraft. Historians have the National Trust's Peckover House or the Octavia Hill Birth Place Museum, both in Wisbech, to wander around, and if you have kids along on your hol, they'll probably fancy wanders around Fun Farm, Alley Katz Bowling or the Butterfly Wildlife Park.

喜欢 Friendly staff, good facilities, level pitch, great entertainment.. dog friendly, park and pool excellent for the kids.

不喜欢 Wifi was hit and miss on the campsite being rural but this was to be expected.

喜欢 Showers were good condition and clean but (see below). Friendly pub staff, there are some events on like bingo. The staff were friendly tho (see below)

不喜欢 The paying for the showers tho they were good condition. It was great having the pool but the condition and water quality needed improvement. Kept having bits of hair catch me in the water and was murky which was a shame.

It appeared the bar staff didn't know how to check people in even tho website specifically says check into the bar.

Of note it's not too far from an RAF range so sometimes you will hear the divebombing of planes and the brrrrrrr of an airplane canons.

喜欢 Staff was friendly, toilets was cleaned in the mornings, swimming pool was warm, food looked delicious.

不喜欢 People camping there ruined it, starting fights, rather get drunk than look after their children, shouting late at night. Kids attacked my son and my friends son, kids playing rough in the park, pushing little kids and playing football nearly hitting my 3 year old. Other campers ruining the toilets. No responsibility for their actions and ran riot.

喜欢 The staff wear friendly.

不喜欢 The toilets were disgusting along with the pool and not enough facilities, especially on a busy weekend. Rules are in place but they were not adhered to.

喜欢 We liked everything, there was plenty to keep the children entertained as well as the adults. Swimming pool fantastic, entertainment fantastic, Mark the manager was very friendly and went above and beyond to help us when needed. All staff were friendly and helpful. When we arrived we were given the option of where we would like to pitch up near to the park and other facilities and entertainment or further away.

喜欢 Nice small friendly camp site. Shame the power supply couldn’t power a domestic kettle but worked around cooking dinner on one ring.
Great to have the pool and playground for the kids and everyone very respectful.

不喜欢 Toilets not cleaned enough and remembering 20p for the showers.
