A warm and friendly welcome awaits at The Nurseries Caravan Park, an adults-only, dog-friendly park in a semi-rural setting in Lincolnshire. Set at the end of a quiet lane and surrounded by farmland, this site is well-placed for relaxing breaks both in the Lincolnshire countryside and by the sea. Coastal trips are particularly easily arranged at Skegness or Mablethorpe, both of which can be reached in about a 20-minute drive. The site is located in the village of Mumby near Alford, and there's a pub and shop about half a mile away on foot or by car (a few last-minute essentials are also available to buy on site). Facilities here include spotless men's and women's toilets and showers, one of which is suitable for people with reduced mobility. There is also a laundry room, a freezer for ice etc., a food preparation area and a separate washing-up sink. Adjacent to the facilities block, there is also a chemical waste disposal point for tourers. Handily, the site has an on-site café for tasty snacks and daily essentials. The Nurseries Caravan Park is very pet-friendly, and there is plenty of safe off-site dog walking to be had in the surrounding area for exploration with your four-legged friend.

喜欢: Peaceful well kept site. Reception meet and greet very friendly. Information books and games and the ability to purchase items from the little shop at any time with the honesty box, good that.

不喜欢: The toilet and showers are in need of upgrading to modern facilities. The approach road which I assume is not owned by the campsite is a suspension killer especially after rain as you have no idea which are the deepest holes

喜欢: Will definitely stay here again, great site, just as we like it. Lots of 'proper campers and caravanners. Nice idea having artificial grass at the side of the caravan hard standings, you didn't need a groundsheet for you awning, it's already there. I've seen people noting the pot holes as a problem, don't be put off, they are easily negotiable even with a saloon/caravan combo and it's a relatively small stretch of road. For a campsite great wifi, could easily work remotely, I've paid for a lot worse connections.

不喜欢: Some owners allowed their dogs to yap but that's not the sites fault.

喜欢: Stayed here with my Mum and two dogs. It’s very dog friendly and close to loads of good walks. It’s a great base to visit some lovely beaches such as Anderby Creek and Huttoft. Neil the warden was excellent. Such a nice, friendly guy who was always happy to help or have a chat. The site had clean showers and toilets. There’s a small shop with essentials in case you forget to bring anything and a little library with plenty of books plus a few games to keep you occupied. I also enjoyed watching the wonderful sunset across the fields every night. Very relaxing and peaceful stay.

不喜欢: The only issue we had was the wind. I think this was made worse due to the location of our pitch and the strong wind blowing straight across the field to our tent. I noticed that some other pitches were better located, so the wind didn’t bother them anywhere near as much. We did have to leave a night earlier than we planned. Obviously the weather cannot be helped, but if we visit again I would definitely try to book a better pitch, as the ones behind hedge felt a little out of the way and there was no protection from the wind.

The small seaside town of Sutton on Sea (15 minutes' drive) is an excellent place to start exploring the Lincolnshire coast, with its attractive seafront, pretty public gardens and spectacular natural beach. The place feels more like a village than a town and is a world away from the bright lights and buzzing arcades of similarly nearby Skegness and Mablethorpe (both 20 minutes), both of which are also well worth visiting in their own right. For a change of scene, you could continue along the coast to the Seal Sanctuary (20 minutes), where sick and wounded sea creatures are nursed back to full health, or head inland instead to the National Trust property of Gunby Hall (15 minutes), a handsome 1700s country house with Victorian walled gardens. If you're happy to head slightly further afield, you could sample local ales at Batemans Brewery (25 minutes), plan jaunts to traditional market towns like Louth (35 minutes), a famed foodie hotspot, or leave the countryside behind to visit the cathedral city of Lincoln (an hour) and its pretty medieval streets.
