Liking the sound of direct access to the National Forest, with its miles of scenic forest tracks for walking and cycling? How about adding in views of Derbyshire’s Priory Church of St Mary and St Hardulph atop Breedon Hill? Camping without any kids? If you’ve answered “yes” to all three questions, then you should be heading for Barley Fields Holidays on the Leicestershire-Derbyshire border. This peaceful adults-only site also has stunning views of the Vale of Belvoir to the east and is a 45-minute drive from the edge of the Peak District National Park. And just when you thought things couldn’t get any better, you’ll be pleased to learn that your dogs can join you, the site has modern showers and loos, and – although barbecues are allowed on site – you’re only 10 minutes’ stroll from a popular Breedon on the Hill pub that serves homecooked food. So… on arrival, get set up and… just chill. Life will take care of itself. Sit back, relax, watch the horses in neighbouring fields and see if you can spot/hear any of the following: cuckoos calling in late spring, swallows arriving on their early summer stop-overs and birds of prey circling overhead. And on clear evenings, you’ll be sure to bag a truly spectacular sunset. Sounds good, doesn’t it?

喜欢 Very clean facilities that are being added to. New addition was a warm dog shower.Simple procedure to get onto the site. Other reviews have said about the toilets not having a sink and only hand sanitiser. Most sites don’t have a sink in the toilet you have to come out to wash your hands which is what you do here. You have the added protection of being able to sanitise your hands though before opening the door. Airplanes could be heard yes but this was not annoying in anyway. Overall one of the best sites we have stayed on as it ticked all the boxes we need. Would definitely return.

喜欢 Everything! Very friendly, immaculate facilities, spacious pitches - we stayed here for just the one night as a first outing/shakedown trip for the campervan we recently bought, but definitely plan to return later in the summer to enjoy the site again and explore the local area too.

喜欢 Beautiful location. Really peaceful. Well thought out, Great clean facilities. Hot water, information board, warm welcome and wifi to boot. Lovely little village - can recommend Monday pie night at Hollybush inn!

不喜欢 La difficulté à réserver le jour même, pour la première nuit sur pitchup le site était soi-disant complet, et nous n'avons pas trouvé de numéro de téléphone. Heureusement, d'autres campeurs nous ont aidé à contacter le propriétaire. Pour la deuxième nuit, la réservation sur pitchup a fonctionné.

Lovely site. This was 2nd visit and already booked again.

喜欢 Great little site with lovely clean toilets and showers, showers were lovely and hot.
Ray came to great us on the evening we arrived to make sure everything was ok which was a nice touch.
