Craving a peaceful time filled with wildlife watching, long walks and relaxing by the water? On the banks of the River Severn and part of a working family farm with lots of livestock, Baldwin’s Brook Glamping in Gloucestershire fits the bill. This small site is a wildlife haven adjacent to the Severn Way, a long-distance trail that traces the river downstream. Birdwatching prospects are excellent here, and there’s plenty of peace if you’d rather sit and relax by a firepit or check out the stunning views and sunsets. From the farm, it’s a 45-minute walk to Frampton on Severn, which is home to the longest village green in England and the lively Frampton Country Fair (think funfair… and 400 stalls full of good stuff). Baldwin’s Brook Glamping is also half an hour’s walk away from the Cotswold Canal Trust Visitor Centre by the Gloucester and Sharpness Canal if you’d like to take a boat trip or sip a coffee by the canal. When you'd rather have a chilled beer, two pubs are within half a mile of the site (only 10 minutes’ walk away). Strike up a conversation with a local about the next Severn Bore, the huge tidal wave that races for 25 miles from Awre to Gloucester down the estuary just a handful of times per year. If you feel you haven’t done quite enough walking yet, the 102-mile Cotswold Way can be tracked down about 15 to 20 minutes’ drive away from the site; it passes by Berkeley Castle, which is otherwise a 20-minute drive away.

喜欢 Tranquil with beautiful views over the river. 3 well spaced, fully serviced pitches and 2 glamping pods. 5 minute walk to a lovely local pub serving tasty food. Bonus we got to see the Severn bore surfers .
No facilities but we knew that prior to booking . The owners are lovely and gave us lots of information about the local area and came to introduce themselves

喜欢 Everything. Lovely little quiet site with river views. Great canal walk nearby with 2 pubs in walking distance (one each direction from the site entrance). James was lovely too, very chatty & welcoming. Bonus was we got to watch the 'Severn Bore' on both mornings of our stay along with James being one of the surfers on our 2nd morning. Site feels safe & secure and we will most definitely be returning.

Peaceful relaxing right by the river. Great field to exercise the dog and 2 pubs both within 5/10 minutes walk. Hosts were lovely & friendly . Will definitely be going here again.

喜欢 Lovely little spot, beautiful scenery and walks, with 2 pubs close by in either direction of the site. Great location for places of interest.
Nice to be able to use campfires and tables etc...

不喜欢 As the pitches are on a first come basis, we ended up beside the bins!
Not a lot of space for caravan, awning and car!
We knew this site had no toilet, but it really needs one.
Owners/hosts not to be seen!

Want to swap the countryside for the city? Cheltenham (half an hour’s drive) hosts the Cheltenham races, but its Regency architecture, museums and Victorian Everyman Theatre make it a great stop even when there's no racing on. Gloucester (20 minutes) also has some fantastic spots, from the 11th-century cathedral to the historic Gloucester docks. If you’re not finished wildlife watching, keep your eyes peeled for kingfishers and oystercatchers at WWT Slimbridge (20 minutes) or head to Birdland Park & Gardens (50 minutes). For families, Cattle Country Farm Park (20 minutes) is a local farm park with family-friendly attractions like play barns, a boating lake, a farmyard and miniature golf. Head north to get to the Forest of Dean (45 minutes) for stunning walks and bicycle trails, as well as other attractions like the underground museum at the Clearwell Caves (55 minutes) and the Puzzlewood (55 minutes) attraction. For yet more stunning scenery, Westonbirt, The National Arboretum (half an hour) has plant species from all around the world.
