Once you arrive at Abbey Home Farm, 10 minutes’ drive from Cirencester, there’s absolutely no need to move off the site for the duration of your Gloucestershire stay. Why would you ever leave this 1,600-acre farm? Let’s start with the stunning views over Cotswolds fields, and move on to the organic farm shop packed with home-grown fruit and veg. It also sells dairy produce and meat from the farm cows for barbecues (bring your own from home), and – even better – it’s licensed too. There’s also a popular café that's just the spot for coffee to kick-start the day, plus homemade cakes and veggie lunches. All of this is within a 10- to 15-minute gentle stroll of the remotest holiday spots within the farm's woodlands and fields. The farm site is off-grid, with simple facilities including drinking water straight from a farm borehole, washing-up sinks, gas showers and compost loos tucked into the woods. And to top that, everything is crafted from reclaimed or recycled materials. There are wheelbarrows to roll gear in should you need it, as the pitches are spread all over the farm. Just one thing to remember: this site is not party central, so no noise after 10pm please.

喜欢 Lovely farm shop and restaurant. The camping fields have a great view. I only stayed one night as a stop over so didn't use the fascilities. It was quiet and peaceful.

不喜欢 The campervan area had hedges on both sides which restricted the lovely view aside from two gaps in the bushes.

喜欢 The scenery is beautiful from the tent pitch, and so peaceful. The farm shop and cafe are a wonderful addition.

不喜欢 The toilets take some getting used too! They really are back to eco basics! But understandable for their eco ethic.

喜欢 Everything! I chose Abbey Home Farm as a last minute one-night trip as it was very well priced. I loved the car-free field, the further you walk from the car park the quieter and more secluded the pitches are. Fantastic views across the valley, sufficient eco-friendly facilities and a hot shower. Great location for exploring the Cotswolds. Also very helpful staff, accommodating me even though I had accidentally booked the wrong night!

喜欢 Amazing place, excellent Location, beautifully kept and clean. I will come back again.

不喜欢 Really need a "late" checkin option for solo cyclist or walkers . It created a little stress as a long distance cyclist knowing I needed to be in by 5 PM.

喜欢 We stayed in the sweet Hill yurt in our own little woods for a mini break, and we had an amazing time! We didn't really see much of the farm cause we were just having a great time in the woods, my kids 7 and 9 loved it, we cooked evething over the fire, even in the two storms, the owners are lovely and it was the best! We will be back!

不喜欢 My son wasn't a fan of the toilet but really who is, my only niggles and it's so small is cause the shower bucket (the shower is slow but I loved it) hangs so low it would be handy to have a little shower seat, the other purely because we had storms was it would have been handy to have a picnic bench under a shelter of some kind, again it didn't stop us having a great time

喜欢 Peace and quiet and privacy. Safe for kids to roam free. Amazing farm shop and cafe. Having campfire and flexible accommodation options. Zero wifi =10 stars = zero screentime all round. Noone even asked for it!

喜欢 The overall atmosphere of the place was really lovely. There was plenty of space, easy access to the facilities, a gorgeous cafe and overall great a charm to the place.

不喜欢 The cafe had limited options for vegetarian gluten free meals which meant my friend couldn't eat there on the Sunday.

Rent a bicycle from Cotswold eBikes on site, and set off down quiet rural roads to pretty villages built of mellow stone in the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (20 minutes’ ride). If you’ve got kids on board, make for the lakeside beach and floating inflatables at Cotswold Country Park and Beach (40 minutes), or let them burn off more energy on paddleboards and kayaks at Lake 32 Outdoor Centre (35 minutes). When only cuddling animals will do, it’s time to head to Cotswold Farm Park (35 minutes’ drive), to bottle-feed lambs, baby goats and piglets, see rare-breed farm animals and take tractor rides. In search of a bit of Cotswolds history? You’ll find it among the fourth-century AD Roman ruins at Chedworth Roman Villa (25 minutes’ drive), where you can admire ornate floor mosaics and the Roman version of central heating. If your interest is piqued, you can see more local Roman finds at the Corinium Museum (10 minutes), which has fine displays of sculpture, mosaics and jewellery.
