Elmwicke Campsite

喜欢: The toilet and wash facilities are second to none they were cleaned every day. The fact you can pitch anywhere and anyway you want meant as a group we were able to set up exactly how we wanted. This site is brilliant we would definitely go again but more equip.

不喜欢: It seems a very winding campsite so if we were to visit again would take more windbreakers.
There is only a football goal for the children to play so needs more for the children to be kids.

喜欢: Everything about this site is perfect. Some of my favorite things include:

- relaxed and rustic, but with everything you need to be comfortable.
- great hosting: Ruth & John were friendly, accessible, welcoming and helpful throughout our stay.
- immaculately clean facilities.
- indoor washing up facilities with fridges and freezers for guest use!!
- plenty of space. I’m not sure if there are designated pitches or not but we certainly felt we had plenty of space, and weren’t on top of our neighbors.
- breakfast rolls: pre-order, turn up, enjoy!
- campfires and BBQs allowed.
- well-behaved dogs can be off lead. You can also hire fire pits and buy wood and kindling.

喜欢: Everything!

Ruth and John have made this the perfect straight forward camp site. We all agreed it was the best we'd stayed in.

They were both so friendly and so helpful. They take a real pride in the site and could not have been more helpful

Big basic camping field with large pitches so we had lots of room for our camper, awning, gazebo, large tent and two cars, and we still had plenty of room to sit round the fire.
The power point was too far away for our cable because of the way we wanted to position our camper, but Ruth lent us a really long 16 amp extension so we had no problems. Toilets and showers were the cleanest we'd seen (and I don't mean just on a camp site, I mean the cleanest we'd seen anywhere public!)

The field is a farm field so don't expect it to be bowling green smooth, but the pitches are pretty level so we didn't have any problems, but take a torch with you because you'll need it at night

There's a small on site cafe with ice creams, good tea, coffee and an excellent breakfast bun with egg, bacon sausage etc

Wood and kindling available (£10 for a big bag of hardwood that lasted about 6 hours)

I can't say much about the surrounding area as we didn't explore much, but it's Gloucester so there's bound to be plenty to do if you want to explore

The site is old fashioned camping at its best. We'll be staying there again for sure

喜欢: Everything..there was nothing to not like :) the owners were welcoming and helpful. They were lovely and friendly (which makes a huge difference to a solo traveller) and made a effort to remember all their campers names. The site was really well kept with excellent and clean facilities..even a washing machine should you go on a particularly wet weekend. The area is perfect..its not far from anywhere you might like to visit while in the area. My only problem was that I didn't stay there long enough!

喜欢: Fairly easy to find. Well kept site. Good shower block and facilities and very friendly helpful site.

I was the only person on site that night, so that was great for me. I expect it to be much busier and convivial at full capacity.

喜欢: Great facilities at the site with extremely clean toilet block and washing up area. There were also a couple of fridges and a freezer for campers to use. Small shop and breakfast restaurant on site too.

喜欢: Very quiet site when we went, everything was great very relaxed and spacious.

Showers n toilets were always open and clean.

喜欢: All the facilities were superb! The toilet and shower block were very clean and spacious. The complimentary facilities were a nice touch, as was the free hairdryer. The wash and laundry room had everything you needed including a communal fridge. There were plenty of recycling bins. The optional fire pit was nice as some campsites don’t allow fires. Overall we really enjoyed our stay, the owners were really friendly and hands on if you have any queries, and very accommodating to our needs. We look forward to returning. 😀

不喜欢: I would have liked a bigger log bag for £10.
