If you’re off to the Peak District National Park for the stunning gorgeous green scenery, you should be pretty pleased with the pitches at Peaslows Peak Camping. Part of a family-run farm, this site is a scenic spot indeed, with 360-degree views for miles across the Derbyshire countryside – including a wonderful view of Mam Tor. It all makes a rather fabulous backdrop for a picnic, a barbecue or a campfire evening – and it’s quite likely to inspire you to get out and explore a bit as well. That’s easily done, as there’s direct access to footpaths for walks of however long you choose, as well as the challenging Peaslows climb for cyclists. Nearby you can also visit the towns of Bakewell and Buxton, visit the caves around Castleton or spend the day exploring the Chatsworth Estate. The pop-up site is simple in style, with just a unisex toilet block, shower facilities (three each for men and women) and a washing-up area on the facilities front, and it’s a place that welcomes all guests – families, groups, couples, solo travellers and dog owners among them. There’s plenty of space on site for kids to scamper about in the fresh air, and a playground (along with a café and shop) a few minutes’ walk away. Chapel-en-le-Frith (five minutes’ drive) has supermarkets, shops and places to eat and drink.

不喜欢 Toilets and showers need to be in the same field and what’s with the limited times to have a shower this I’d so do wrong, yes I get you’ve got a genie going for the showers but changing to electric would stop all this. I didn’t even get a shower because of the limited times and small shower area which could have been built massive given your not limited on space.

Too much noise from the over head flight path, roads in the distance which were busy and then early farm noise bleeping reverting sounds, was so glad we didn’t book got two nights.

来自经理: Hi Stephen, this is a simple in style 'pop up' campsite as advertised and all information is available before booking. Due to this being a 'pop up' campsite we must follow guidelines regarding electricity.
The shower times poster is available to see before booking in the photo's section. During your stay the showers were available from 6pm -10pm and 7am-12pm (checkout time). We have flexibility on shutting off times, we do not strictly turn the facilities off at exactly 10am or 9pm we do our best to accomodate our campers and their needs. There was a total of 9 hours shower time available with 5 showers.

As advertised it does not state that it is anything more than a simple camping field with 360 views of the Peak District. We allow campers to pick their own pitch so proximity to the facilities is chosen by our campers not us.
Our campsite is also advertised as part of a family farm not a secluded campsite. We are doing our part to preserve water and most importantly look after the Peak District.

Very much enjoyed.

喜欢 Enjoyed the location. Good for astrophotography and kite flying. Also appreciated you did not leave until 12.

喜欢 Excellent location with fantastic views. The site is well laid out, with big, short grass pitches, separated by longer grass. It was fairly quiet when I stayed, but the layout, with clearly marked pitches, would be great when it's busier.

不喜欢 An honesty box with essentials/snacks would be great, as there aren't any shops within walking distance.

喜欢 The venue offered a serene and meticulously maintained environment. The shower and restroom facilities were exceptionally clean, providing ample capacity with six showers and numerous toilets. The washing area was also pristine, with readily available hot water.

The panoramic views were outstanding, notably encompassing Mam Tor. The location proved ideal, offering a tranquil and secure setting for hilltop camping, complete with stunning sunset and sunrise vistas. The proprietors were highly accommodating and approachable. We anticipate a return visit.

You’ll be able to see Mam Tor from the site – and once you’ve done that you’ll no doubt be keen to get over there to see it more closely. You can walk there in about an hour and a half, or drive to the car park (15 minutes’ drive) for access to the summit. It’s a popular local favourite and wonderful to visit at any time of day – but perhaps at its best during a sunrise or sunset walk. Another favourite local walk or bike ride takes you along the Monsal Trail from Bakewell (25 minutes) – and don’t forget to try out the local puddings in town once you’ve finished your outing along the former railway line. Buxton (10 minutes) is also a good place to find tasty food; while you’re there, perhaps try the boating lake, visit Poole’s Cavern or catch a show at the opera house. There are plenty more great things to do around the Peak District too – perhaps you’d like to visit the Blue John Cavern or Peak Cavern near Castleton (10 minutes) or head to the Chatsworth Estate (25 minutes), where it’s easy to full a full day visiting the grand house and wandering around the grounds to see the farmyard and have fun at the huge adventure playground.
