Wake up to see the sun rising over the Chiltern Hills while listening to the gentle murmur of sheep, pigs and deer during a stay at Orchard View Farm, a scenic Buckinghamshire spot within 15 minutes’ drive of Aylesbury, Thame and Princes Risborough. Not that guests will ever need to venture to the town for food if they don't fancy moving – food and drinks are sorted courtesy of the on-site bar and café-restaurant, the Trough Garden Kitchen. There's also an independently owned farm shop on site for other locally-sourced bits. Looking after nature is just as important to the owners of this small farm as serving up tasty grub – they’ve worked hard to create a serene and scenic environment in the grounds by planting wildflower meadows, more than 100 trees and over 350 metres of mixed native hedging. Orchard View Farm is five minutes’ drive from the western edges of the Chiltern Hills National Landscape, so it's safe to suggest that the local area is also rather pretty for walks. Crime fiction fan? Or just fond of cute country cottages? Head off on a self-guided Midsomer Murders-themed tour of nearby villages (you can download a trail map from the internet). Oxford is 40 minutes’ drive from the site and central London takes an hour and 20 minutes to reach.

喜欢 Lovely site and site staff extremely attentive and checking in on everyone especially in such hot weather. Really well maintained private pitches, nice and level. Lovely on site cafe and great pub The Dinton Hermit down the road.

喜欢 Price, location, views, cafe, owners James and Kerry are really lovely.

不喜欢 No children’s play area and pitches in Apiary are too close together so it was like a festival - be better to have a central square of grass and pitches round the outside. Despite this, we had a really wonderful time

喜欢 Spacious pitches with nice hedges separating them. Very quiet. Great cafe/restaurant right next door. Owner was very helpful and friendly. Great for dogs. Toilets and showers nice and clean.

不喜欢 Only a small thing - hot water taps were only luke warm or cold in the toilets.

喜欢 Absolutely loved our stay at Orchard View Farm. The site is supplied by clean toilets, sinks and shower and fresh drinking water. The wood is Namibian wood, which we cooked steaks on and it was the best steaks we've ever had. We put that down to the wood. It also burnt beautifully. Overall, we will definitely be back. Thank you!

喜欢 The site is beautiful, lots of nice country walks around and the farm shop on site has some great stock in. The staff are all super friendly and warm. The site itself was quiet, its autumn and winter so I cant speak for the busier times but the site is a delight. I will definitely be back

不喜欢 The only issue I had was on saturday morning at 9am their neighbour was clay pigeon shooting. Not on the site owners at all and its a shame they couldn't stop it. Its not the nicest way to be woken up. It did only last an hour thankfully

喜欢 Friendly warm welcome. Helpful in getting us connected to WiFi as site is a bit of a dead zone (had to stand near cafe to get signal) Good size pitch, peaceful and quiet. Great location to explore. Cafe has good variety (winter opening hrs 9-3) stopped mid week so bar was not open. Liked being able see pigs,sheep and deer in fields around the site. Good value

不喜欢 Few spiders webs in showers and loo blocks. only 2 ladies WC cubical so can imagine a bit of a queue in the summer when busy.

不喜欢 The bathroom and shower facilities were not regularly cleaned, often going in the following day and seeing the same dirt and dead bugs from the previous day, not as described. There was also a vehicle that entered the site quite late at night and parked directly Infront of where our tent was pitched so the headlights shone brightly through our tent when we were trying to sleep

If city trips are what you fancy, set off for the compelling colleges of Oxford (35 minutes) or the spectacular sights of Central London (an hour and 20 minutes).
