Fancy settling your caravan in a strategic location that will give you easy access to all sorts of attractions and activities? Take a pitch at Grove Lock Caravan Park, a spacious and well-maintained Bedfordshire site two miles outside of Leighton Buzzard. There’s a lengthy list of things to see and do in this area, so it’s certainly a place where you could easily spend several days without any danger of running out of entertainment. For starters, you might like to try Whipsnade Zoo, Bletchley Park, Woburn Safari Park and Milton Keynes’ Snozone skiing facility – or perhaps head out for walks in the likes of Rushmere Country Park or on the Dunstable Downs? And of course there’s also the option of boarding a train for a day touring the sights of London (an hour away by train). The immediate surroundings are rather lovely here too – the site is right on the banks of the Grand Union Canal for easy waterside wanders, and a very short stroll from the local pub too (how handy). Everything on site has been well thought out to provide the best experience for guests – pitches are large and well spaced, with access to electricity and water plus a well-kept toilet and shower block. Kids and dogs are welcome on site, so feel free to bring along the whole family.

喜欢: BBQs that was available for use with benches next to them so we didn’t have to constantly walk back to our caravan. The showers were very clean lovely site beautifully kept always clean this is our second stay here.

不喜欢: Not much for children to do.

喜欢: Well maintained site, good shower facilities. Good value for money gated site . Pub local to caravan park (didn't manage to get there this holiday) . Plenty of electric hook ups per pitch and water points.

不喜欢: Field backs onto b road which didn't really cause any issues and a railway line is pretty close and constant noise but this isn't the caravan parks fault , don't be put off by this as the sites positives outweighs this ! Before we decided to book we saw this in the reviews but still decided to give it a go and glad we did in the end as we will be returning .

喜欢: The site is beautifully planted with trees and shrubs and is spacious. There are seats and picnic areas dotted around along with BBQs for visitor use. There are some lovely walks along the canal tow path.

不喜欢: You should always take note of reviews. This site is very noisy due to a railway line and busy road right along the boundary. If you like to be out and about every day you'll find lots to do in the area. If you like to sit by your camper and enjoy some peace and quiet this site is not for you.

喜欢: Location was good, close access to pub, toilets and showers clean and very warm showers.

不喜欢: Very bad communication from site warden, we arrived after 5pm whdn the waarden had finished work, although I called him before 5 he didn't brief me on the WiFi code, explain that we need a key to access the pub through a locked gate, I had to climb over a dangerous gate to get out to walk to the pub as we were literallylocked in, I called the number he didn't answer I left a message but no return call.

Getting out for a walk is certainly a good idea around here, whether you choose to set off along the canal towpath, wander among the woods at Rushmere Country Park (10 minutes’ drive) or see what sort of trails you can find at the National Trust-maintained landscapes at Dunstable Downs (15 minutes) and Ashridge Estate (20 minutes). There are all sorts of historic attractions to explore nearby too, including art-filled Ascott House (five minutes) and heritage rides on Leighton Buzzard Railway (five minutes) as well as the famed Bletchley Park (15 minutes), where you can find out all about the fascinating role the Enigma machine played in World War II and hear the stories of those that worked there. Animal attractions are in good supply here too, so you may like to take the kids to meet big beasts at ZSL Whipsnade Zoo (15 minutes) or Woburn Safari Park, or make friends with cuddlier creatures at Abbotts View Alpacas (15 minutes, advance bookings only) or The Bucks Goat Centre (25 minutes).
