Fancy settling your caravan in a strategic location that will give you easy access to all sorts of attractions and activities? Take a pitch at Grove Lock Caravan Park, a spacious and well-maintained Bedfordshire site two miles outside of Leighton Buzzard. There’s a lengthy list of things to see and do in this area, so it’s certainly a place where you could easily spend several days without any danger of running out of entertainment. For starters, you might like to try Whipsnade Zoo, Bletchley Park, Woburn Safari Park and Milton Keynes’ Snozone skiing facility – or perhaps head out for walks in the likes of Rushmere Country Park or on the Dunstable Downs? And of course there’s also the option of boarding a train for a day touring the sights of London (an hour away by train). The immediate surroundings are rather lovely here too – the site is right on the banks of the Grand Union Canal for easy waterside wanders, and a very short stroll from the local pub too (how handy). Everything on site has been well thought out to provide the best experience for guests – pitches are large and well spaced, with access to electricity and water plus a well-kept toilet and shower block. Kids and dogs are welcome on site, so feel free to bring along the whole family.

喜欢: Nice area with friendly locals .

不喜欢: People who stayed on site (lookes like on permanent bases)selfishly played very loud music ,looked very strange and we wouldn’t trust to leave our things outside or unlocked. We booked gravel pitch but had to move far from this issue to grass pitch with no electric hook up. Toilets and showers not clean and dated ,also divided by dwarf walls (someone smoked in one of the units and cigarette smoke spread with in all facilities).No good if you stay with small kids.

喜欢: The site is well placed for access to a variety of shops as well as direct access to London via Leighton Buzzard train station. The showers are mixer showers with good pressure and temperature control. Damage caused by a travelling group was quickly cleaned up.

不喜欢: Travellers had entered the sote before we arrived (they left during our stay). The main gates have been damaged and require repair so access to the site is not currently controlled.

喜欢: Location and Check in Staff.

不喜欢: Absolutely awful experience. We was nervous about our location and this proved to be right. Last night we was on site was awful, swearing, music being played loud, kids running around and fighting this went on to 2.30 am. Rubbish left around site. Showers and toilet facilities are not clean and general rubbish store overflow with rubbish which attracts vermin.

不喜欢: Ontvangst, norse meneer die geen enkele uitleg gaf. Alleen het pitch nummer. Dus zoek zelf maar uit waar de douches zijn, de chemisch toilet uitstort en nwaar het grijs water gelost kon worden.

喜欢: The site is very spacious with a lovely view of the countryside and good access to the canal towpath. The pub next door is excellent. Shower facilities lovely and clean. Good value for money.

不喜欢: Nothing really. Some visitors have commented about the railway line and road nearby but honestly speaking it is not intrusive and the easy accessibility and access to the canal more than compensate. We did not really hear either.

喜欢: Lovely well kept site, with showers & toilet block. Nice canal side location.

不喜欢: A group of Travellers were also on site which is a bit off putting. Traffic & Train noise but you get use to it.

喜欢: Wonderful setting, magnificent facilities, friendly and helpful staff, river walks and amazing pub with great food. All at a reasonable price. Ticks all the boxes for us.

喜欢: The toilet and shower block was clean and well kept. The pitch was level. Staff were friendly. Being close to the canal was nice and the nearby pub was very good.

Getting out for a walk is certainly a good idea around here, whether you choose to set off along the canal towpath, wander among the woods at Rushmere Country Park (10 minutes’ drive) or see what sort of trails you can find at the National Trust-maintained landscapes at Dunstable Downs (15 minutes) and Ashridge Estate (20 minutes). There are all sorts of historic attractions to explore nearby too, including art-filled Ascott House (five minutes) and heritage rides on Leighton Buzzard Railway (five minutes) as well as the famed Bletchley Park (15 minutes), where you can find out all about the fascinating role the Enigma machine played in World War II and hear the stories of those that worked there. Animal attractions are in good supply here too, so you may like to take the kids to meet big beasts at ZSL Whipsnade Zoo (15 minutes) or Woburn Safari Park, or make friends with cuddlier creatures at Abbotts View Alpacas (15 minutes, advance bookings only) or The Bucks Goat Centre (25 minutes).
